These posts helped me, I was beside myself and terrified because I discovered a smaller than a pea sized purplish spot on my outer labia minora and I went to the doctors and my pap smear and other tests came back normal. I also was told a few years back that I have a cystic body type. I was having a total panic attack because I don't have health insurance. Does this sound like a cyst?
It puts me at some more ease knowing I'm not the only one with this!
My vagina was all fine yesterday, but this afternoon when I went to the loo I noticed it. I also was scratching beforehand right on that area. It's like a small pimple, and not knowing what to do I squeezed it. Yellow/white pus came out like any other pimple. It's right at the front of my outer labia. What should I do now? I'm a virgin, but when I first saw it I still totally freaked out about herpes etc., even though I've never even been kissed :|

i just got one. i just recently got my first boyfriend and cannot believe something is going wrong. i noticed i had one when he was fingering me and it didnt feel completely amazing which was a first. i am still confused on what to do. is it better to squeeze it out? or go to the doctor? i really would rather not talk to my mom but i also wouldnt want to squeeze it and have some bad effect coming from it. i want to tell my boyfriend so he wont hurt me but i feel like something is so wrong with me. everyone on these sites that has had one talks of it reoccuring and hurting and ugggh i dont want this to be happening. is it becuase ive been experiencing new things like fingering and such? or just random and have nothing to do with that? what causes it?
I went to the doctor for the exact same thing. She told me to take a hot bath every night, and the warm water will help. Try doing that every night for a while?
i used to have one too but i left it alone and it went away.
i dont kno bout the whole growing like an orange...
but ne ways months later i got another one n left it too n it stayed small n i got one on the tip of my labia and i decided to TRY n pop it it...
n yess it did...irritated a bit but went away...now the little one grew as big as the other one... :/ n i guess popping em is best to do cuz grrr do they bother wen u move around!
so are they pimples or wat?
cuzz such a WEIRD n EMBARRASING place to get em!

I have just found the same thing, a small pea sized lump under the skin on the outer part of my labia minora. It feels like a huge spot that's not ready yet and it hurts a lot! It's really gross.
I will have warm baths and use hot flannels and try to ease it out over the next few days!
I usually trim my pubic hair regularly, but I haven't done so for 2-3 months and I believe that my long pubic hair might have been one of the factors which contributed to this thing appearing! Sweat occurs more and also lingers more when there's a lot of hair down there. Time for a trim methinks!

It may be a "barothlyn gland cyst"-completely harmless , many woman can get them, and they have nothing to do with an STD.
Go the the ob/gyn and they will lance it. It is not painful at all and you will feel much better after it is drained. Do not be embarrased, it can happpen to anyone.... and the Dr. will not make you feel akward. I would not lance it or pop it yourself- go to the Dr...always get a professional opinion... Hope that helps!

oh thank goodness i looked on here everyones comments ae so helpful. i literally just noticed this red bump on the left side of my vagina, its really swollen and quite sore and is like a whitehead. me being me at 17 got really scared and things start whizzing round in ya head.
i really dont want to pop it myself incase it makes it worse and i cant go to the docs about these sorts of things, do you think if i have hot baths and dab it with really hot water it will calm down?
i will be very grateful for any comments.

I think that sometimes it can just be a bacterial infection, especially if you are not sexually active. I sometimes get a blister sometime around of after my period and it usually goes away by itself in a few days. What i would say is, clean it everyday, and if it doesnt go away in a few days or within a week, it's best to see a doctor to check it out.
I regularly get the 'pea sized' lump in my right outer labia. It has 95% of the time been an infected hair. The other times it was a cyst, once larger than a golf ball! A round of Keflex (cephalaxen) and/or lancing clears it up. It is best to have a doctor or PA lance it as doing it yourself can cause more infection.
Thank you SOOO much for your help! Other websites were talking about herpes (which is not the only thing it could have been but they were making it seem that way and scaring people) and if they did say what it was they weren't telling how to fix it without going to a doctor. This thread has been such a big help. Thank you.
thanks for posting this. i had some itching/burning and pain and i thought it was a yeast infection. after trying the typical cream i noticed it was just a specific spot that was really painful. on careful inspection i noticed it was this tiny pimple looking thing on my inner labia, kind of amazing how much it hurt for something so small. i know i don't have herpes because i've been tested very recently. as soon as i popped it, the pain was gone. it looked like it might have been a very weird rogue ingrown hair. yuck. hope that doesn't happen again.
Hi all! I was so glad when reading all these posts. The exact same thing has been happening to me. A recurring bump, in the exact same place, has been showing up for serval months now. It usually happens right before I get my period. It hurts for a while and then forms a white head and "pops" just like a pimple. After that it goes away and stops hurting.
At first I thought it was Herpes, and was just about to die! But I notice that my symptoms were not similar to those of a person that has herpes.
I dont like the doctors, so I ran to the internet. I've bn to other sites and read similar posting. All point towards some sort of cyst, pimple, or ingrown hair. There is also this other thing I looked up called "folliculitis", this has to do with your hair follicles becoming infected. if you want check it out.
Glad to know others are out there dealing with the same issues. Big stress releaser!!! Hope my input help.

What would I do without google. I noticed one too. I'm really scared. I've only had one sexual partner whose never had herpes or another sexual partner either. (we lost our virginity together) so I'm more than confident that it's not an std.
Do I just lance it with a needle? where do I find this triple antibiotic ointment? Thank you it means so much to me that you're helping me out.
It kind of hurts like a pimple. And I refuse to visit the doctor. White labcoats are a keypoint of stress for me
Much thanks!
