you are desccribing what is called a bartholins (sp) cyst. very common, it happens when a gland that produces mucus down there gets clogged. most of the time they go away on their own or you can do your own work to get rid of it. sometimes if they get large enough you might need to seek medical attention to get it drained. for the most part (unless its bigger than the size of a pea) youre fine. so dont worry unless it really bothers you. =]

I noticed I would get one about a week before my period, in the same spot over and over. Hot compresses are comforting. But tea tree oil actually works. Keep it in the bathroom, and every time you're in there, swab some on. I used to try neosporin, calamine, hydrocortisone, aloe... tea tree oil is the only thing that worked.

For a few days now I've had this pimple like white and sometimes red looking mark on the inside of my labia. When I walk it doesn't hurt nor when I go to the bathroom it doesn't hurt. I've been putting a&d ointment on it for 2 days now n its still the same. It is tender to touch. I've researched about herpes n genital warts n I know its not that. I have been having sex but always with a condom. I'm freakin out right now!!! Scared as hell. I made an appt for my gyno already but til then I'm sooo scared. Can someone relate or give me some kind of relief because these past couple of days have been stressful

I have had painful, small bumps under the skin of the inner lips of my vagina for years.  It seems they have been appearing every now and then for most of my life since my teen years.  I have been checked for STD's over and over again and never had anything, so I don't think it can be an STD like Herpes, but they did have me worried.  For instance, this time I got three simultaneously, and they are taking a couple of weeks to completely disappear.  Normally I only get one at a time, and only every few months if that often.  I'm generally pop them and there can be minor white discharge then blood, or simply blood.  They are embarassing but now that I know they are just pimples or cysts, I don't have to worry about a more nefarious source.

I was diagnosed with Hidradenitis Suppurativa when I had several re-occurances of cysts like the ones you are mentioning.  Google it.  It is painful and hard to get rid of or even under control.  Good luck!

WOW! Glad I found this thread. I had one pop up a few days ago. Freaked out, I ran to the computer for more information. I have only had 2 sexual partners in the last 10 years, none unprotected, so I ruled out STD's pretty fast. To be on the safe side, I looked up images of Herpes and found what I had was not a blister but rather a pimple-like lump on the Labia Majora. After reading this thread I tried the remedy the last poster advised. I boiled some water and soaked a washcloth in it, then applied the cloth to the lump; repeating this process for 20 minutes. The next morning I awoke to find a white creamy substance coating the area. I cleaned the area and noticed a white head on the lump and a spot that had began releasing the puss that was inside of it. I then applied the same remedy again to draw out more, and behold, no more lump. I have been applying triple antibiotic cream on it to fight off any infection that may try to rear its ugly head. Thanks to the poster that suggested the hot washcloth. It's such a sensitive area and I wasn't really looking forward to having my doctor cut at it.

OMG! I feel so much better! I've had one once before and it went away in a day or so...so I didn't think much else of it, deciding it was probably just an ingrown hair...but the one I have now is really sore so I was freaking out a little. Thanks for posting!

You most likely have a pimple.  Take a washcloth and run it under hot (as hot as you can handle...but don't singe yourself) water, wring it out and press it against the infected pimple/area (you may need to re-wet it several times) for about 5-10 minutes 3-5 times a day.  This will bring the pimple to a head, and eventually release.  Do not pop it!  DO NOT POP IT!  You can infect it more by forcing it to pop before it's ready.  I know that sounds weird but resist popping it.  You will know when it's ready to release.  Once it's gone (As soon as you notice it gone) put neosporin or some triple-antibiotic on it, and it wouldn't hurt to continue to do the hot compress for one whole day after it releases (after each hot compress put on the neosporin) just to make sure all the "gunk" is out of the pore (yes you have pores "down there").  Hope this helps...I know it helps me when I get a pimple down there.

oh my gosh, this post makes me feel so relieved! i have exactly the same thing and everything i've read online so far has been like "it will get bigger and you can't cure it yourself and you will have to have it surgically removed!" this pimple-like thing just appeared last night, and it has me soooo freaked out because i havn't seen my boyfriend in 6 months and he is finally visiting next week and i do not want this stupid pimple thing to interfere with out *ahem* reunion. so is it safe to drain it myself? how long would it take to go away if i just left it alone?

I have just read many posts. It's really amazing that we women that have been to gyn exams, have never had anyone tell us more about this issue or have brochures outside the office like they do for "breast cancer" "herpes", etc. This annoys me somewhat, since, I myself, have survived cervical cancer (almost 9 years now-still counting) and I never had any idea about that either. That's a whole other story. I was dx. at age 40, just divorcing my second ***hole husband, and only had one other partner in my entire lifetime. That partner was my first husband, who died from an instant heart attack when I was 23.  When I saw my obgyn, he looked at me incrediously after asking me how may sexual partners I had. He did not believe me! He kept trying to get me to give a different answer and seemed to laugh at me. I was so mad I can't even explain. I was raised a strict Catholic, my brother went on to be a priest, so, for God's sakes, this dr. thought I was lying. I must get off this because this is not what I intended to get into, I'm sorry.

My main thing is that women need to be more informed, (thank God for the Internet, and this site), if not for all your responses and questions, many people would be freaking out about this "PIMPLE, WART, CYST, BUMP..." topic.

Been there, lanced them myself, etc. it's not a big deal, really, but I can understand people getting upset over this. In my case, the last thing I'd do is call my OBGYN, but if you feel comfy with yours, by all means do so!  My GYN oncologist surgeon was one of the best doctors I had ever met in my life. He had such a good attitude and "bedside manner". He stood by me before, during and after my surgery, talked straight with my brother (the priest) and explained everything, why I needed so many blood tranfusions, etc... Unfortunately for me and so many others, he passed away from cancer about a year after my surgery. I never knew that the man who was trying to fix me had cancer himself. So very sad.

So, in essence, if this THING is really bothering you, go to your doctor,  if he is a good one. Otherwise, talk to another woman friend/family member you trust about it, and of course this Steady Health Community is terrific. Good luck. Peace and health to all.

Is it possible to have more than one at a time? I have two right now on the right side. They are sensitive and I'm going to try and pop then with a needle and apply alcohol. I do shave and thought maybe it was an ingrown hair but two at the same time??

Wow I have the exact same thing...tiny lump next to my vagina which appeared out of nowhere. I panicked but after a few days it literally disappeared...Now its come back again in the exact same spot...so im hoping it will disappear again. I was in proper panic mode this time though because I have a cold sore on my lip for the first time in my life...although apparently you can't spread herpes to yourself...so im relieved after reading this that it cant be herpes..seeing as I have absolutely no discomfort whatsoever...

TEA TREE OIL!  Swab it on every time you get a chance.  The hot compresses are good, too.
