I ran into this post but was researching more and I found out that a bump found on the labia could be genital acne, not a cyst.  Everything I read said not to pop or lance the pimple...I had this problem and already popped it so hopefully that's okay.  I think if this has happened to you more than once, you should probably mention it on your next doctor's visit and see what they recommend.  That's what I'm going to do! This has only happened to me a few times over the years, but it's so painful! So I'm definitely hoping the doctor will have some good suggestions on how to treat/prevent these genital pimples from happening.

I believe what you are talking about is a Bartholin Cyst. I had to have one of them lanced off my leg a few years back and they are no big deal unless they get infected. Now if you have multiple reoccuring ones on your thigh right next to your labia then it is most likely Hydradentitis Supportiva. I am lucky enough to have both of these conditions and it is embarrassing and rather painful. I have had 2 major surgeries to remove them and they keep coming back. I have frankenstein scars on both of my legs and it sucks :-(

ughhh!!! i have these too ladies!! they suck soo bad!! i like to call them " lovely lady lumps"  i had one for months and months one time and i did everything on this thread but it would go away and come back every month mostly around my period.. i finally got rid of it and it has no come back ever but it was on my panty line. HORRIBLE PAIN!!! now i have one on the inside of my outer labia and i squeezed the puss out as soon as it came up. but now i still have the lump and its been a couple months... what can i do?? there is never a head on it and im scared to do anything to it because of where it is. like i said mine was on my panty line before....

So I have been reading these posts and I also have one of these. Does anyone know what causes them. This is my third go round with these inside of 6 or 7 months. I had the first two incised and drained at the ER. Talk about hurt!!!! I am wondering how to keep them from coming back:-|

I had two I these last month, I squeezed them and nothing happened and it was so painful that I couldn't stand it. Then I tried a sterilized needle and that was very painful as well. They're like these really pesky red bumps that don't have a head and are itchy and painful. Glad I'm not alone and it makes me feel comforted to read everyone's posts. Anywho, the two I had last month died down on their own but now I have another two... They're bigger and more painful. So I'm dealing with four at the moment. I'm going to try the hot washcloth and a bath tonight hoping they drain. Thanks everyone~

yea just use epsom salt in a washcloth with hot water and set it on the bump it will pop on its own that way..u dont even feel it pop

Thank God I found this. I thought something was seriously wrong with me because I woke up with this one morning and it hurt. I thought it was a pimple, so I was waiting for it to be ready to pop, but it never was. Sometimes it would bleed, but after reading a few of the above posts, I can conclude that the combination of tight jeans/shorts and barely-there underwear caused that. Now I don't have to explain myself to my mom and can take care of it properly myself.

It's so depressing. First time to get any freaky bump/lump/zit/pimple/or whatever ya wanna call it in an area I never dream I would have it on, I noticed it until later on during the day and went to check it out. Gosh, a nasty looking bump near below my butt, inner left theigh, close to bikini line(?), an inch away from the perineum. Feels it kinda hard and it hurts. :-/ Its not itchy. Maybe it was then but not now. I dont know. I have to spread my legs to ease the bump from any contact of the skin.. I havent noticed any pus from the bump .. Too scared and painful to squeeze the thing.. :-/

I wonder if it has anything to do with my period. I'm just done with it like days ago, but noticed the bump today. I'm not sexually active, so it cant be that. /sigh/ I cant figure out what's exactly wrong..Everyone responses sound somewhat similar. Going to see the doctor will never happen. Now I've been wondering whats the cause of it. And, it seem like most people here are saying it reoccur. Now that just horrible.. :(

Questions I wonder..May sound silly but I cant help to feel worry 'bout it.

Does it have to do anything being hygenic? Was the pad I used for my period had anything to do with it?  Was it itchy before the bump occured? Does it still itch? Did I use public restroom? Is this a herpe? Maybe I was sitting somewhere that was unsanitary?

I guess I'll just deal with it and see how things goes. Hopefully it goes down without bothering it too much.  Good luck with everyone else.

i have one right now. its about the size of a quater. i want it to go away. but it hurts to bad to squeez and i cant walk with out it hurting. i dont have a docter yet. ive been trying to find one that will take my insurence. any ideas of what i can do to make it smaller and go down and easer to pop?

THANKYOU!!!! I thought I was the only one in this world suffering from some rare icky cyst near 'that' area!!!  This post has given me so much.  I have been getting these since my teenage years.  When I did see my Dr about it she said that I should go in and get antibiotics to clear them up.  Though I worried about taking antibiotics so decided to just put up and lance where possible.

Not only am I taking a deep breath I don't feel isolated by this.  I have actually held off from sexual relationships thinking there was something wrong with me, plus in one case I have really bad scarring.

So thankyou.... Great to know I'm not alone..

What a relief!  I agree! The first post is a perfect description of what I have.  Although, instead of one, I have several all along the outer labia (there were some on the inner labia a few days ago).  AT first they were just bumps (under the skin) very painful; now they look like they have the tiny red dot in the middle and they are worse(painful)!  There is one tiny one above the clitoris which is more like a tiny pimple.  Do you think these are cysts? what causes them? how should I treat them? How long will this last?  (I read about people popping them, I tried to pop one and could not-the little white "head" was soooo tiny)  I have just been putting antibiotic cream plus pain reliever on the area.  Any comments would be helpful!

I have had one of those before in the same spot about 4 years ago and went to the doctor, he lanced it and yes, it was just a pimple like thing, he had a long name for it but cannot remember it. He said more than likely it will come back so it must be something in your genes that causes these to happen or maybe dietary, certain foods causes it to happen I am not sure.
