As a NP I want to tell some of you this: if you are getting re-current cysts in the same spot over and over again it sounds like you have an epidermoid cyst. While squeezing and pop-ing them over and over will clear them up for a little while they will keep returning. You should see a doctor. The cyst will just keep reappearing until removed. This is typically an in office procedure. If you keep rupturing the cyst you run a risk for some serious skin infections. I recommend you see a dermatologist to evaluate if this is what is going on. I know nobody wants to have a doctor down by their lady bits cutting but it is much better that getting them over and over again forever or risking an infection called cellulitis which can require a hospital stay, IV antibiotics, and in bad cases skin grafts due to necrosis. I am not trying to scare you guys, I just want you to understand the risks of preforming self 'surgery' with un-sterile utensils and non-aseptic technique. There is a reason primary care givers have to go to school to learn how to do these things.

Thanks for the info. My LPN had no idea what it was, so she did a biopsy and found nothing abnormal. I've been getting them for bout 10 years now. I have one right now right by my clitorous, but I'm also 6 months pregnant so I'll just call my OBGYN to ask him to lance it if its not gone by next week. I used to self surgery with a needle and alcohol swab but being pregnant I don't want to run the risk of getting a potentially harmful to baby infection. Blah, I say.

Melaleuca essential oil Tea tree oil) and oregano essential oil mixed with some fractionated coconut oil will clear these up within 24-48 hours with no squeezing or popping necessary. It will kill bacteria and prevent/stop infection. Just dip a q tip in the mixture and apply.

That could possibly be a Bartholin's cyst, which is when one of the glands that excretes lubrication for your vagina becomes blocked. You should put aside your embarrassment and see a doctor because left untreated it can become very large and painful. I'm a nurse and I have seen a large one lanced in theatre. Don't let it get to this stage.

I have one right now and it hurts Sooo bad. I can't pop it. Its bigger than a pea and freaks me out. Its under the skin and no head is showing its been.there a day or two and it hurts to walk. I'be never had sex, but I was wearing slightly tight jeans and ended up doing yard work and then this appeared. I tried popping it but a little bit if pus and blood came out but that's it. It feels really large ...just smaller than a marble maybe?

TO ANYONE SCARED TO USE A NEEDLE TO POP IT: dont be scared! i have this and i was terrified at the thought of popping it with a needle because the thing already hurt very badly, even just to touch. i've tried to pop it by squeezing it, but it wouldnt pop. so i used the needle and gently poked it while lightly squeezing and slowly applying more pressure with the needle, and it popped! its reduced very much in size and no longer hurts as much. make sure you run the needle under hot water and put rubbing alcohol on it to avoid infection. good luck guys!

You guys are all idiots.. Stop trying to "Pop" the cysts on your vaginas. That's not good whatsoever!

I just had one of these and just popped it, im 14 and never had any sexual contact so I wasn't worried about stds but it still worried me and I thought it was an ingrown hair from shaving. Some white stuff came out when I squeezed it and a tiny bit of blood but then the swelling went down and it no longer hurts!!

Omg I've been getting these for years but was always to embarrassed to ask my doc while she's down there. Ladies thank you so bloody much for being open and honest. I feel a ton better. Mine usually go away on their own after a week or so but I also hated not knowing and being unable to explain it to my partner. No longer need the good old headache excuse. "Sorry dear I have a cyst". Lol Thanks folks!
