I keep getting small lumps, that sometimes form into painful pimples around my groin area. They generally do not hurt, but occasionally they form bigger where they get red and sore. I can see a white head on the top and if I squeeze a pus-like liquid comes out (and this usually gets rid of them).

I'm not sexually active and I'm pretty sure it isn't STD related.

Can anybody work out what they might be or what to do to stop them? I stopped shaving because I figured they were a blocked hair follicle but it hasn't helped at all.
You are correct. These small lumps are blocked hair follicles that had become inflamed. Try over the counter antibiotic ointment to see if they will go away. If not, your doctor can prescribe more powerful antibiotics. Wash your groin area thoroughly with soap and water whenever you take a bath or shower.

I have the same exact problem! Has this been resolved for you? I have read other treads and if this is a fungal infection, I am thinking of buying lotrimin or monistat. Please someone out there know about this situation?

I developed rosacea years ago and it’s controlled using doxycycline. A few years ago these stated for me too. I associated it with the rosacea.
