Popping can spread it and increase irritation, so stop that. Pretty much just keep washing it and avoid anything that would irritate the skin, especially shaving the area, though exfoliating/scrubbing a little should speed up the process. Stop using antiperspirant for a few days and try to limit the potential for bacteria. Keeping a warm, wet washcloth on it may speed things along, and ibupprofen for the pain and swelling may be appropriate in this case. If it looks like an infection is starting, see the doctor

I had the same thing once before. DO NOT POP THEM. I shaved constantly and teach hot yoga. Noticed one early in the morning and by the end of the day had four. I went to the doctor and they said it was folliculitis, which is a general term for "infection of the hair follicle. I was prescribed an anti-biotic and after 24hours there was little to no improvement so I went back and was given bactrium. Knocked that sh*t out in 2 days. No hospital, just go to a walk in clinic. Tell them this and get the good stuff first time.

It sounds like you popped a boil. Infection spreads when popped. It can get serious. See a doc for some antibiotics.

I had this start happening a few months ago. Didn't know what was going on. Would go away for awhile then come back in droves and really made it painful to move my arms. Took the advice here to use tea tree oil. WOW! One went completly away and another shrunk to almost nothing within minutes. Thanks for the tip!
i have this too yet it didn't disappear it's been weeks and i really am worried what is this. sometimes it will be gone then the next day it would grow again, it really hurts so bad. please help me.
I hand the same painfull nodes on both of my armpits. Their size actually grew whenever i came back to home after playing football and doing exercise. So i pretty much agree of the blocked sweat gland point. I used some simple techs and they worked for me. Just take regular bath, apply powders and olive oil. Just after 2 days of doing this the pain stopped and the pimple started to shrink.
