Painful White Bump on Pointer Finger

I too play acoustic guitar and notice a couple days ago on my right index finger. this small white bump that looks sort of like an eye. does any one know what might cause this.

It seems That i'm not the only only one who's having this problem !

iam also a guitarists, guess this little bump is very common among the guitarists !  Me too have that small bump on my left pointing finger, but then later i discovered it on my left thumb as well !! it only pains when i poke it !!

I too have a hrad sunken bump on my left index finger, almost like a tiny pearl. I do not play guitar but i know my way around a ukulele and noticed this once i really satrted getting into it. I began to get sick of it because it hurt to press down on a fret with my index finger. One evening i took a pin and some nail clippers too it. after breaking open the top layer of skin nothing happened so i began to squeeze. It eventually erupted and sprayed me in the face and all over the wall. It was a completely clear liquid. After my finger healed the pain was gone for a good 6-8 months with some minor scar tissue in the area, but it has recently returned in the exact same spot, which is making think that it is a posibility that there is a foreign object deep in there. I do have a check up coming this week so i'll post back and let everyone know.

yea im also a guitarist... at first i thought it was because of that. i thought it would go away on its own but it's been there for months now.
can't get rid of it!

hi umm im 15 and ive had this little white bump by my knocle ive hade it for about 6 years i dont know what it is i pop it but its still on my fingure plese help

well idk exactly what this is on my right index finger. it swells up usually around the summer time it starts to fill up with puss and it hurts badly if i try to press on it. ive been dealing with this problem for yrs now and usually it would just go away. but this one summer it came back and it started hurting real bad. i try to bust it but it wouldnt pop. i ignored it then all of a sudden my whole hand and arm begin to swell up and i wasnt able to use my hand at all. went to the hospital and was admitted to the hosptial for 3days. doctors thought that maybe i had got bitten by a spider or insect, i wasnt sure i thought maybe it was an wart. the doctors stuck a needle in my right index finger to numb it then the cut open the bump and all this puss came flowing out of it. after that i thought i was cure and it was over but little did i know i was wrong it came back around the following summer. so ive been sticking a pin in it and releasing that puss out but it is getting annoying. wth can this be. an wart?,an viral infection?, or something else? i work at a hospital and i asked an infection control doctor what this could be he sad it look like a wart. he told me to use over the counter compound wart i used it and it came off but came right back like a few weeks later. im out of solutions think i need to see a dermatologist and have them freezed this off

Well im a guitarist and i got the same thing.did the same thing with toenail clippers. I even pulled out this knarley giant dry pimple lookin thing. Going to the docs tomarrow.

i'm nor a guitarist but I can't get rid of it - wish there was an answer because it's very painful

I dont know if this will help but I had the same thing on my index finger it started to hurt so I got upset and started to dig at it with one of my knives. I got about 1/16 to 1/8th an inch in and a white hard single seed came out. it feels fine now and I will see what happens heck whats the worst that can happen it comes back I really don't think it will I think the pain came from that little seed. I don't play but I have been reloading 35000  rounds for the past few weeks so I think that was the issue. 

I 've had this dot for well over a year.  painful only when i press down on it.  tried popping it.  wont pop.  im a firefighter, photographer and also do multiple home construction jobs.  i own a guitar but never really got into playing it.  i've had 1" long slinter in my hands several times without knowing until they start working their own way out enough to grab with a pair of tweezers(pretty cool feeling when u pull a long splinter out).  so i thought that this might be a splinter taking its sweet time coming out.  umm, no.  anyways im going to the Drs. today and not because of a tiny bump.  came across this forum so i figure i will bring up the bump on my finger and give you all her opinion after i get back today.  thanks all!

I'm a professional Air Guitarist and I have this same affliction on my pointer finger at the base of it. Its not painful but it feels way too wierd . No one can see it or feel it but me.

I have also had a small, milky-white bump under the skin on the pad of my left pointer finger.  Not a guitarist, nut a violinist.  I've had it for about 2 years now, but about 6 months ago it started to become very irritated and grow in size.  Now it's approx. 1/8 an inch across and very painful.

I went to the doc, and they didn't know.  Doesn't look like any type of wart I'm aware of.  I'm going to try digging it out tonight, and I'll post back!

That actually, IS a callus. When you first start playing guitaar you will develop them on the pads of youur fingers where you press down on the strings.
I think what everyone else is talking about is more of a pimle on top of the finger, like between jointss. I just got one this week. Thought it migt be an ingrown hair and tried to pop it which wad very painful. It had some pus but mostly bled ; now tthere is a scab there. What's gooing on???

Hi, I have these bumps too, it started with one on my left index finger and now I have one on my left thumb right at the joint on the palm side. Both of them really hurt. When I asked the doc, she said it was probably a wart so I treated it with wart remover and it did look like a wart for a while but it didn't get rid of it..it just came back. What the heck are these things, hey hurt so much and I don't like them. I have arthritis too and am wondering if it may be related to that. I don't play any instruments but do type a lot. I hope someone finds an answer to what these are..in the mean time I am going to ask the doc to remove them as they hurt way too much and are annoying. I have enough pain to deal with than to have these tiny bumps giving me more pain. Take care all and I hope we find an answer and cure soon.
