l had one on my finger for a couple of months,it was painful everytime l touched it, i even felt it pulsing so i decided to get rid of i, this is how...and don't worry it will NOT hurt.Get a clean needle, sterilize it with alcohol, gently put it in the white dot to make a hole to open it then press and squeeze until all white comes out until some blood comes out, put some alcohol on finger and that's it. :)

I realize this is an old topic, but I found it because I have the same thing. I noticed most of th first 8 or 10 respnders were guitarists. I've played for 45 years and I don't think I've ever experienced this on a finger tip. I have something similar on the side of my index finger where my pick digs in, but I only remember it hurting once and I dug it out with a knife. I thought it was gone, but ni this typing, I checked ans there's a small callous there.
My current issue is on the very tip of my middle finger. My fingertips are very calloused so it seems unlikely I'd get a splinter through one and I didn't think it had to do with the guitar. But thinking about these posts over night, it occurred to me that "they say" the body will try to push a splinter out, pushing down your arm or leg, or finger. So I'm thinking maybe this happens by getting a splinter in you finger and over time it is pushed to the end, but because we are guitarists the big ole callous on the finger tip prevents the body from pushing it out. It gets stuck, infected, and well, you get the sore dot under the skin.
Thats really what I wanted to say, but since I'm here... Yesterday, I cut through my callous to try and free up the infection. I got down to the meat and it was just too sensative to go farther, I had a hole about maybe 2 mm in diameter. Before bed, I softened it with water and tried again, but it was too sensative. I did increase the hole size, but that's how I got to 2 mm. Anyway, I washed it and put a good amount of Neosporene on it, covered with a bandaid and went to bed. This morning, I checked it, tried to work a while (keyboarding) and finally decided to give it a squeeze. It came out like bright white tooth paste and held it's shape. I got about as much as would displace the eraser on a #2 pencil. Then I kept squeezing for 10 minutes or so until I couldn't get much more blood.
Of course it was still sore to touch, but it was a lot better than before. I put a little more Neosponene on it and another bandaid and it's been a couple hours. It feels a lot better. I'm getting close to losing the bandaid becauce I can't type.

HI everyone this is the answer to your problem https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callus
What you have on your finger is a callus, an extra layer of skin that the body create to protect the area that does the same movement for a long period of time repeatedly as play the guitar or write and etc... you can remove it by using GANOZHI TOOTHPASTE just lay it on the are for 3-4 hours for a month it will disappear. Or go to your doctor and let him remove it with scalpel. But know it might come back years later if you keep the finger doing the same movement. I had the same thing when I was 10 my first month of guitar lessons they removed it with a scalpel but It came a few months back so I removed it with GANOZHI .
