I have it to but it is near my nail and it looks like there is a small cut-like thing it is bothering me, and it hurts when I touch it. It is white-ish and it is hard. I want to get rid of it badly. Anyone know how

I have had the same thing. I tried twice to pop it however it seems to be hard and sort of grisly underneath. I even tried freezing it off with wartoff however after 3 applications its still there.I have peirced it and applied a drawing out cream and that still has not happened. I am guessing the doctor is the only option left.

It is maybe a ganglion it build up of fluid and can be sucked out with a syringe by a doctor or cut out in surgery

I too have a small white lump in the crease of my middle finger. It's rough to the the touch, And hard skinned. sort of feels like a callous. But , it's not. It doesn't hurt unless It rubs against something like carrying a plastic grocery bag. I'm not a guitarist nor do I use my finger on a constant basis that something like this should take formation. I got one of those hand held razor blade things. It has a metal guide. I dont know what they call it. You can find it in the footcare aisle of your pharmacy. Most people use them to cut across a corn on their feet. Anyhow, i guided it slowly not to deep across the hard lump.doesnt hurt or bleed, but it removed some of the hard skin to uncover what looks like a small hard round , i guess a seed type underlying growth. As some have mentioned in previous posts. I didn't want to mess with it anymore as I am right handed and had to use my left hand to try and slowly cut away at it. It's been a few days now and has since recalloused over. I'll try to jab at it again and let ya know how it works out in a few days.

I developed a tiny white circular dot on my middle finger too a few days ago but can't determine why. I've been sick lately so maybe it's a by product of that? Not a guitarist. Although I do a ton of typing I doubt it's from that.

Well, i only have one small white bump on middle finger which is now looking like a callous only it hurts if I hit it the wrong way now. I did try to shave off carefully with that Guided razor blade device I was talking about in previous post . However, Good advice from you an The thing is I am old school, I don't cook my meals from a box, don't use a microwave, make my own bread, No drugs, alcohol etc. healthy , fit .. I guess I should quit playing a guessing game and see a doctor. But its a hassle because they have to go through a whole spiel of checking eyes, ears, blood pressure etc. like I said I'm healthy and have no other complaints. Just dont have med insurance and why should i pay 120 bucks for a 30 min appt, when i could just pay 30 bucks for 10 min appt. and be in and out cause they could probably lance it off.

From reading all of your descriptions it sounds very much that i have a very similar thing, however, i am not a guitarist.

i had my little white bump on the inside of my middle finger (the first joint marking) and it was painful if i ever poked and prodded it but just now it looked as if it was going to come off a but and when i touched it it didnt seem to hurt, so, i squeezed it and the middle of it just popped right out!!!  leaving a small hole in my finger.  i have had mine a while and have just left it even though i have wanted to amputate it as it was annoying me so much. i hope this will help some of you to figure out what it is.

I have the same bump on my index finger too. It is on the left side right near the first joint. It isn't very painful but very annoying. I have had it for a few years now and I removed it once with nail clippers. It was extremely painful and has grown back. I am a teacher and I write a lot so that's where I'm thinking it came from. Whenever it comes back I just keep removing it.

Ok so I am back and sorry for taking so long. I finally was able to remove this small white lump from the crease of my finger.. I used one of those razor shavers you find in the foot care aisle to shave across corns on your feet. Thats what this actually was ..a corn . Very small, hard, somewhat protuding out of skin. I scraped carefully, not too deep across the hardened part. Left it alone for a few days, then did it again. The hardened piece eventually got wiggly like a loose tooth, i then got tweezers , grasped the hard head of it and sort of started twisting it. It hurt a little but not much, no blood. Finally i could feel it pop out , as if it were a plug. It was cone shaped , like a corn you get on your feet. wow, what a relief. It feels so much better. There was a hole in my finger , but has since closed up. Like i said , no blood, no infection, area never turned red. Hope this helps. I have seen how foot doctors remove corns from feet on youtube. They scrape with scapel, then dig in around the corn. Causing bleeding. My method was better.

I am also a guitarist, and I got this same thing. I basically took a small knife and start scraping gently away at the surface of the skin, until the very top of the white thing was totally visible. I then took a needle and gently started sorta rocking it back and forth till it came out. It came out in one piece but was still somewhat soft and gooey (gross!). Now my figer feels SO much better! It left a small hole, but it didn't bleed at all. The hole is already starting to close up.
