Unfortunately, I do not, but may I add that a couple of our posters on our parathyroid chat site have gone to Moffitt, in Tampa, with successful results. Also, several have gone to Dr. Kennedy (DeKalb, just outside Atlanta, GA). He is Norman MIRP trained, if that's also a consideration for you and does not charge an up front fee, )unlike Norman who "separates" his diagnostic/procedure code & that's why he asks for the "moola" up front). I would list the link to his site, but I don't believe we are supposed to do that here (sorry).
I hope this helps & I will wish you much luck. (As one of our posters phrased it, "This disease bites!")

Firebird56: Thank you for your response. I see that elsewhere on the website there is a reference to a Dr. James Lee in NYC. But I cannot locate info on him - do you know what hospital he has privileges and where his office is? Thanks again!

I need a surgeon for Minimally invasive parathyroid surgery (MIRP) as close to Oklahoma as possible.  Any Ideas?  Thanks.

Dr Babak Larian is in Los Angeles - not very close to Oklahoma, but he is an excellent surgeon, does minimally invasive surgery and uses the radio probe when necessary.  I think he is worth the trip from anywhere.  There's a lot of information on his website and you can contact him.  He is very good about calling people and is very helpful and easy to talk to.  Please don't choose a surgon based only on location.  Be sure you find a really good one.  Wishing you the best - mass

Dr. Charles Livingston of Austin, TX would be the closest to you which I am aware is MIRP trained.  (I am aware of more people though, who have been very happy with Dr. Shelby Holt, UTSW Dallas, regardless of not utilizing the probe...)  I would strongly encourage anyone not to make the "R" in the MIRP, the main focus because of what's advertised on any particular site.  If a surgeon performs "at least" 50 para surgeries/yr, then s/he would be considered an expert.  It's equally important to ascertain incision length, expected op time, if ioPTH testing is utilized, what % of PTH drop during surgery is considered a "successful" surgery, under what conditions do they perform bi-lateral neck exploration, how much thyroid assessment is done pre-surgery, will they still perform surgery if you have negative imaging, what's the protocol for post-op care, etc...   Good luck!

Hi. You may want to check with the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale or research Dr. James Balserak in Tuscon. If there is any way you can go to L.A., I would highly recommend Dr. Babak Larian.

If you can possibly do the surgery in Dallas, you may want to research Dr. Alexandra Dresel. She's only got about 7 years experience but does MIRP.

MASS: You are right on target with Dr. Babak Larian in Los Angeles. I live in Dallas and because I had a very complex case, I was getting all kinds of mixed opinions. After reading this site in Aug 2009, I contacted Dr. Larian's office because of your recommendation. He reviewed my records, advised me to hold off on the parathyroid surgery, and sent me to the proper doctors in L.A. Although ultimately he did not do my parathyroid surgery in October of 2010 due to a scheduling conflict, I am very grateful for the help Dr. Larian provided. An amazing doctor! And Mass, I owe you a big thanks, too!

I'm so glad that you contacted Dr Larian. He really is one in a million. His surgeries are very meticulous - I'm glad I didn't have a 20 minute rush job. Sounds like you had successful surgery - it pays to choose the surgeon very carefully. Glad I could help. mass

Hi -- Dr. David Goldenberg at Penn State Hershey Med. Center performs this surgery. I am now in northeastern PA but used to be more in east-central. Hershey is probably the closest you'll be able to find.

I don't even know for sure if I need this surgery. I've had recurrent kidney stones - had a very large one blasted by lithotripsy last year. The hospital I was admitted to and was diagnosed at - and had a stent put in - did not run the parathyroid bloodwork, though. My urilogical surgeon (put the stent in but also did the litho at an outpatient surgical center) wrote me up a 'script for the bloodwork, but since we were in the middle of a stressful move at that time, I never had it done. Really need to go for the bloodwork to see if there is an issue, since some of the other symptoms of parathyroid disease are showing up.

An acquaintance had the MIRP in Hershey, and she gave me the name of the doctor there who did it. A 1" incision and minimal recovery time sound much better to me than a 6" incision and a couple weeks of recovery time.

Good luck with everything!
