I was diagnosed by with PCOS and I have struggled with my weight for a long, long time. It has improved a little, but it’s still not in a healthy range. After I suffered severe depression until I was put on Cipromil by my doctor. I went on and off of Cipromil. Apart from the weight problems and the depression, I have suffered from severe fatigue and also have a complete lack of libido and sex drive, have never orgasm and as this has been going on for about 5 years it is having a severe effect on my marriage.

I've suffered from PCOS symptoms since my first period. As is typical, I was often told it was in my head. Many doctors out there are totally ignorant about PCOS and a lot of them will put you on progesterone if you're having hormonal problems, although often the problem is estradiol deficiency. For me PCOS caused severe fatigue, depression, hypoglycemia, lack of libido, weight gain, excess body hair, muscle and joint pain, irregular periods, PMS that lasts all month, mood swings, and other symptoms. I'm only 38 and I've developed high blood pressure, hyperplasia of the uterine lining and heart problems, all complications of PCOS.

I too have been diagnosed with ovarian cysts, however, when fibromyalgia joined the party all hell broke loose. The fatigue and joint pain were so incapacitating that I had to drop out of school just 6 units short of graduating. My progression went something like this: chronic hormonal problems, depression, fatigue, severe joint pain, complete loss of libido and general emotional numbness. If this sounds familiar you might think about getting a rheumatology work-up. ;-)
