If the issue appeared after using a topical steroid cream, discontinuing its use is a good first step. Prolonged use of steroids in sensitive areas can lead to skin thinning and other adverse effects.
A dermatologist or urologist can examine the condition, diagnose the problem, and recommend appropriate treatments. They may perform tests or biopsies if necessary.
Avoid any harsh soaps, fragrances, or products that may further irritate the affected area. Stick to gentle, hypoallergenic, and fragrance-free products for intimate hygiene.
While you mentioned using scar creams or bandages, it's essential to use products specifically designed for genital skin. Consult with your healthcare provider before applying any creams or bandages to this area, as they can provide guidance on their suitability and effectiveness.
What advice you got from your doctors?
I think im suffering exactly what you guys are i got it prescribed for balanitis but docs kept telling me to use it even after the two weeks.
The anger i have towards the nhs is untrue now
I'm in the same boat!! Red burning ugly thin pennis head skin due to steroid cream a dumb doctor prescribed for me and said there is no side effects!! I literally had I little dermatitis that is now permanent damage. I have been off the steroid cream for 6 months and have no improvement!!!! Sex is pain now!!! How are you doing and does this heal cause I'm thinking it does not!!! Thanks and I hope this message finds u in good health.
If u applied it on your pennis and it's still red and ugly looking. Thin skin and shiny red a year out then my guess it's permanent damage. Mine stopped burning but is still uncomfortable feeling. I'm really thinking about a law suit. No doctor especially a dermatologist should prescribe steroid cream for genitals. I'm 6 months out and it looks horrible. All beacuse I had a little dermatitis on my pennis head. I would have just left it but doctor assured me hydrocortisone cream 2.5 percent was safe and to use it.. screw him!!! Hope u heal my friend.
my pennis is so ugly and red and uncomfortable and sex equals pain now. I was prescribed hydrocortisone cream 2.5 percent for a little dermatitis on my pennis head. I told the doctor what I had read about how it's not safe to use steroid cream on sensitive areas like the genitals and he told me to stay off the internet and I was a worry wart that it's perfectly safe. Now here I am !!!! Messed up pennis!! Its been 6 months off the steroid cream and I didn't even use that much. I feel like it's permanent damage and I'm gonna check into a law suit. Hope u are doing better and if u are please let me know because if u are that means there is hope.
