Guest, You are completely right! posture is the big cause of my pain. It is just so hard not to slouch when it seems to give you temporary relief from neck muscle strain.

Mine also is to the right of my spine, below my shoulder blade. I think it has something to do with posture and how I sit at the computer. I have a massage therapist that says its a"Trigger Point" or a knot of sorts.

I would going and getting a back massage and point out where it is and they make it feel better, but they make it hurt before it gets better.

try a tennis ball in a sock, and roll it over that spot against a wall until you feel pain in your forehead and when it goes away still with the tennis ball exercise I think that should help. Well thats what she told me. Hope this helps!!

I have this too! How weird it is.

There is no pain, just a strange numbness or tingling in one tennis ball sized spot on my back.

I had a baby 6 weeks ago and it was a very traumatic labour. I am maybe thinking that it is something to do with this? And my nerves and muscles which have been damaged in childbirth are mending or something, who knows.

Glad im not the only one though!

I have the exact same thing. I think it's a drug reaction. Also, I think it's the liver crying out for relief. Do you drink alcohol and take meds, in particular pain meds? I noticed when I don't take the meds I get relief, but as soon as I take them it starts up again.

I have the same exact thing. I've been to my GP, a Neurologist, and now I'm scheduled for an MRI. I've had X-rays and no one can give me any answers. I think I had it about 2 years ago, then it stopped. It's back now and my doctor seems to think that it's brought on by stress. She even tried to prescribed me anxiety medication.

I have this too! Its been going on for around a month and is really worrying me. Anyone had their heart or aorta checked? Im just scared this could be a symptom of an enlarged aorta or something.

Anyone had a echo or ct scan done to check this out? I looked online and the symptoms of a enlarged aorta do not show this, im just paranoid about my aorta since I have the symptoms of a genetic disorder that effects this.

I have a numb tingling spot right below my left shoulder blade, actually mid way down the back just to the left of my spine. It seems to worsen when I slump over the computer also. Its been like this for around a month and comes and goes but wont fully go away.

Im just scared this is something more serious than anyone of us are aware. Weird for sure how so many of us have the same symptoms, lol. Im 25 years old by the way and this just came out of the blue. Wish someone had an answer :-)

I also have this pain under my right shoulder blade. It has bothered me for several years, and after many trips to the Dr. I finally had one stop and listen to what I 've been trying to tell them. After having a MRI it was discovered that I have two herniated disks in my cervical spine C4 & C5.
This is putting pressure on some nerves that cause some wierd reactions.
I've done everything short of surgery, but only manage temp. relief. I have discovered a few things that help. Lying flat on the floor helps, hanging in an inversion table also helps, & massaging the area. Surgery looks to be my last resort for relief. Hope this helps some of you out. Mention herniated disks to your Dr.

Wow, I cannot believe so many people suffer from the same symptoms. I went to the doctor about it about two years ago and he told me it was from drinking. That when you drink you go into such a deep sleep that your body doesn't turn itself like it usually does. I am very sure that he is wrong as it doesn't occur specifically after drinking. Would really like to know what is it - is very annoying!!

I've got the same tingling sensation on my back. (left my spine, right at bra level). It started for me when I was about 6 months pregnant. I wasn't drinking and not on any meds (obviously) so that couldn't be the cause. I asked my doc. She said it is probably a "hotspot" - just a bundle of nerves that are a little too sensitive. This made sense to me because as I got bigger and my posture suffered, the tingling got worse. It never hurt, just was extremely annoying. It stopped when my baby was born but now 4 months later it's back again! So now I'm not sure what brings it on - maybe stress. But then why did it go away when I was stressed out caring for a newborn?? I dunno....I just want relief!!

I also have the same tingling sensation on my back ( left of spine, right ay bra level). I was diagnosed with costo chrondrotitis in April when I went to the emergengy room for chest pains, tingling in my left arm and hand. I have had this before and I am thinking that the inflamation may have moved around to my back. Stress aggravates the problem. It dosen't hurt but is very annoying and the spot seems almost tender. I suppose that I should go to the doctor again but they did all sorts of tests in April and I had a complete workup in June. All my numbers are right. I am glad to see that I am not alone with this and if I find a diagnosis I will let you know.

Do you use a computer or stand?
I used to have this problem. It is very annoying and painfull at times. I found that a chiropractor helped me.
Of course it would come back time to time so I'd revisit the chiro for another treatment and it would, once again, go away.
It may be worth a try for you.

I have the same issue. The tingling is on my right shoulderblade toward the middle by the spine. I do sit on the computer all day and drive about 2.5 hours a day.

I did have shingles once and the doctor said that it would affect the nerves so I am thinking that it might just be the nerves in the area that might have been damaged from the shingles? That was about 5 years ago though! I just recently had the tingling come up again as of a month ago, right when I had my first son. Maybe stress? I don't know either...

I have the exact same numbness and tingling right below my right shoulder blade that has been going on for 4 months. I also have some sharp pain in my upper neck that has been going on for a week now, that last a few milliseconds like 3 or 4 times a day. I just got back from the doctor this after noon after some x-rays that looked completely normal they said. I have been referred to a neurologist.
