NOTALGIA...very common deep seated skin condition. I also have it.
Most commonly one side of mid back . No cure. However most people with notalgia have underlying neck problem. So treating neck issue will solve it.
Symptoms of notalgia:

Deep seated itching (that cant be relieved)
Bruise like sensation
Mild numbing to area when touched or pin prick
Comes and goes
Brownish or reddish pigment in skin (affected area)
Usually above bra line (women) or under shoulder blade. Normally in the spot you can't reach.
No serious health effects. So get your neck checked out!! Could be as simple as your posture.
Hope this helps you all as it did me:)

I have the same sensation under my right shoulder blade. I had Neck surgery 1 1/2 years ago. Something is not right. I am going to see a new doctor on the 15th of this month. I bet mine is a pinched nerve or another disc gone wrong. Please be very careful with your necks. Get checked out, an MRI shows most everything wrong with a spine. When the nerve that controls my left arm was pinched by a disk, I thought I just had a bad kink in my neck, several months later after trying every kind of muscle relaxer(with NO relief) my doctor suggested I see someone about drug abuse! OH MY GOD was I mad. She also suggested that I do physical therapy. I said NO, I NEED AN MRI. the MRI showed I had one disk in my neck pinching a nerve that controlled my left arm and another hanging out. I can only say, do yourself a favor and be your own advocate. Do research, Read reports of all tests yourself. For me it feels like it's never ending...by the way I told that doctor off and never went back to her again.

I think it is related to my shingles I had a few years back too. The very first pimple appeared there.

It could maybe be the bra cutting off circulation in that area? This is just a guess. I'm not a doctor but it's an idea I thought of. I've been getting this too. Under my left shoulder blade. Or it could be because of my school bag. It could be the strap from my school bag putting pressure on my shoulder? Or maybe even stress.

That's what I have. Two herniated discs that's causing the pain and tingling. I'm gonna start physical therapy in 2 weeks and if that doesn't work, I'll go to the chiropractor. One thing I don't like is taking too much ibuprofen for the pain though. Doctor told me today I should only take if I have pain, since Ibuprofen can hurt my stomach. Has anyone had any luck with chiropractor? Even acupuncture?

So I've been having this now for about 2 months. I thought it was related to my thyroid cancer and removal of my thyroid and also pararthyroids and low calcium. But second doctor today, both surgeon and endocronologist says nope, nothing to do with that.

A week before my surgery, I had a rollover accident. Crawled out of my old landcruiser that was now topless, and they put staples in my head and gave me a CT scan and a neck xray.

So now thinking if it's not the thyroid or low calcium, maybe it's from the accident? Been getting massage and chiropractic adjustments.

Finally today got my clean bill of health on my cancer, so I can start paying more attention to this now.

I have a similar burning, tingling sensation that starts in my mid back, just under my shoulder blade by the spine. It frequently travels around my side to my left breast and is the most annoying worrisome feeling I have every experienced. So far no real pain but my tolerance level is high anyway. No apparent changes in skin, no lumps or anything like that. Going for a mammogram and ultrasound of my breast to check. Have an appointment with my regular physician as well in a few weeks.
