It could be Hyper- or hypoventilation
Hyper- or hypoventilation is another cause of tingling in head symptoms. When we breathe too shallowly and don’t take in enough oxygen (hypoventilation), this causes the CO2 levels in the blood to drop, which can cause a tingling, tingly, pins and needles sensation anywhere on or in the body. Some people describe this feeling as an effervescence, prickly, or crawly sensation.

If, on the other hand, you are breathing too aggressively and take in too much oxygen, this can also change the CO2 levels in the blood causing hyperventilation, which can also cause a tingling, tingly, pins and needles sensation anywhere on or in the body, as well.

Even though these tingling, tingly, pins and needles symptoms can seem odd and even unsettling, they are harmless and needn’t be a cause for concern. They will subside when you reverse the above causes.

I think you could have a valid point. I have had spirits touch me before and it feels just like someone is there. My tingling started when I was very stressed out and working a very stressful job. I too thought that it could be the shingles starting, but it has been over a year now and no shingles. I did quit my job, but too late. I had a heart attach in Sept. I was forced to take it easy for a few months, which is incredibly hard for me to do. I'm back working now and it just started back a few days ago. It's strange because after reading your experience, I stopped working, slowed down and tried to picture my mother touching my back. As soon as I do that, it stops. When I resume working, it comes back.

Things that make you go Hmmmmmm.........

I have no pain or itching. Pins and needles sounds like when your foot falls asleep and it actually hurts as you go through the needle part. This is just a tingling. It feels like nerves and it started when I was going through a very stressful time.

I was doing squats in the gym fairly heavy and I hurt my rotator cuff and my trap on left hand side. I've had this tingling feeling since. I was told that it's coming from a nerve in my spine. I've to rest and avoid exercise that makes it worse .

Hello,

I am a medical professional and the cure to this would be lifting weights with both arms up to the ceiling and back down. Repeat and stop when tingling starts. You will love the results.

I'm no doctor but have lots of family members with back and neck issues even myself from time to time. This is usually a pinched nerve symptom. If you all do some light stretching and pay attention to good posture and put your devices and laptops down for a week 9/10 times this solves the issue I'm having. Sitting funky contorted tapping away etc... Also a nice hot epsom salt bath does wonders :)

I'm 16. Right handed. Mine is under my left shoulderblade. Recently I've gotten more flexible and was able to reach it to itch it (doesn't help) the past several days and the tingling has gone more aggressive. Does not react with cold or heat. Just now it's starting to tingle on the right of my spinal cord down the middle of my back just very mildly.

Has anyone had any direction with this? I am thinking that it could possibly be a type or precursor or fibromyalgia?
