I have numbness and itching to the right of my spine just below my right shoulder blade. My right shoulder and arm also ache, sometimes very severe. I never can figure out why, my doctor always tries to blame it on fibromyalgia. I recently had an MRI that showed arthritis cutting off the exiting nerve at C4 and C5. Seeing this post makes me think that could be the cause of my numbness and itching.
I have the same tingling on the right dide below my shoulder blade and revently very sore on the left side.
I know these posts are over a year old but answering none-the-less. I have suffered with this exact same thing for several years. It has driven me to the point of insanity at times. One last google search and I discovered what it is. And it's a REAL thing, not something of my imagination. It's called paresthetica notalgia. I was started on a low dose of amitriptyline (25 mg) at night and as long as I take it, I have no symptoms from this. Gabapentin is also another option.
Can I ask does or did the pain in that spot get worse when you moved your arms about a lot? Any grating sensation under the ribs?
I'm sat now and it's like someone dropping acid into a spot to the right of my spine along my bra line. If I was to start doing anything one I d end up in pain x rest makes it go away but once I get active again it comes back. The acid dropping pains are becoming more frequent whilst I'm inactive. Been checked for gallstones. Nothing seen apparently x
I've had a numb spot under my left shoulder blade for 20 years. Never been a problem or gotten worse. I just accept it and Live my life happily. I am healthy and strong. It's not cancer or some disease. Probably just nerves that are connected to the imbalance in our spinal and back musculature due to our dominant hand. Cheers!
I believe so too because I'm like super stressed out right now and it's tingling like crazy
I had the same thing years ago and was able to get rid of it by changing certain behaviors. I figured out what to do after spending hours reading comments from fellow sufferers. Most of the comments scared me because fellow sufferers talked about having these symptoms for years and undergoing expense tests that found nothing but then I saw some posts from fellow sufferers talking about things that aggravated or alleviated their symptoms. The main changes I made was to sleep on my back instead of on my stomach or side, sit up in straight in a chair instead of slouching and avoid hunching over whenever possible like when typing on a computer or washing dishes. It took several weeks before my symptoms started to improve and several months before they disappeared all together. Hope this helps.

I've been really trying to focus on my bad posture lately and it seems to bring on the strange tingling on the left side of my back, just below my shoulder blade. I just wanted to check in with you to see how things are going for you now?
freakign out, because I am 18, and im starting to develop something really similar. I was freaking out over it being a caner or something. anyone stopped having it by chance?
I'm 27 and started a desk job 4-5 months ago. For about a month now, I have had a tingling beneath my left shoulder blade, under the skin, that feels like something squirming around. I thought "parasite" immediately since I recently adopted a shelter puppy. Nope... because I also developed a painless cyst on the tendon of my index finger, same side as the squirming. These cysts could be anywhere that's irritated. Altogether, im convinced this is a nerve issue from poor posture. Mine is exacerbated from poor typing posture on top of it. I'm considering asking my boss to turn my office into a standing desk office to help with the issue. I'm also starting to stretch in the morning and evening. Hopefully that helps my posture as well.
I'm going thru the same thing. I just had an MRI done and my neurologist said everything looks fine. I'm so confused because I thought it was a compressed nerve or something. I have that tingling sensation on the left side of my mid back and it comes and goes.
I have had the same tingling the same spot. My doctor did an MRI of my whole spine and found a herniated disk at T3. Not sure if it's the cause, but it's plausible.

Bizzare, same thing with me. Under my left shoulder blade. It's been like it for about 2 months. Unfortunately, I also have pain deep in my left shoulder which is waking me up at night. I don't have the best posture and wondered if a visit to the chiro might be in order. Like you've all said, the tingling is annoying but not painful
