I have the same symptoms as everyone else on here and it is driving me crazy . I have had it for about 10 years . I am a diabetic and I have spinal stenosis, deteriorating disk, arthritis in my back and bulging disk . I also had a surgery that lasted 7 hours . My severe itching , numbness and tingling in the upper middle area of my back started right after all the things I listed above so I don't know if one of them is causing it . My Dr. has no clue . I need answers it's driving me crazy .
I myself have this along with other symptoms I wasn't really paying attention too..... I strongly urge everyone to look up Morgellons Disease.....it is controversial however my person doctor himself acknowledges he has it.....when I first came across this I didn't want to tell anyone cuz I thought people are gonna think I'm crazy but I was lucky and with just the one symptom we ALL on here share with that little spot on your back by shoulder blade he told me about Morgellons and then he started telling me what was happening to me without me saying anything else.....I also have believed I was suffering from RLS or restless leg syndrome..turns out that is actually not that at all but rather it is when the disease is most active..GOOD LUCK Y'ALL
I have chronic back pain and I've been wondering if the back problems actually cause the disease I just posted about called Morgellons Disease so far everyone who I've come in contact with that gets diagnosed with this they all start out with it being just back problems and what I'm about to put next is purely my OWN OPINION but the worse my back got the more symptoms of Morgellons I experienced...again thats just how it seems to go for me...wish you all the best hun

After reading through like 30 something pages of this, younger people complaining about the left shoulder blade tingling (in their 20's) generally had admitted to poor posture, desk job, and often recent change in their lifestyle that involved the back (including a job that requires a lot of sitting, or even ones that strains one's back). It doesn't seem to matter how fit a person is (whether one goes to gym x amount of times a week etc.); it has a lot to do with posture.
I had this problem when I was doing a lot of ruck marches in the military, but after getting out, I stopped having this problem... until recently when I started spending more time in front of computers.

Thank you, will try. I notice it gets worse when washing dishes, or cleaning the bathroom sink, or breastfeeding. Hopefully posture change will help!
Have you thought about Multiple Sclerosis??? My tingling us now at my upper portion of my back. I've already set up an appointment with a Neurologist.
I've had the same tingling sensation in my back below my right shoulder blade every day for about 5 years now. I'm a 34 year old male. When reading the posts about "quality of life" i can certainly relate, I'm pretty fed up with it! Ive had chiropractic work, massage, graston treatments, accupunture, accu w/ stimulation, stretching/yoga, trigger point injections, facet injections and have been on Lyrica, anti depressants, muscle relaxers, you name it ive tried it. The ONLY thing that gives me relief is Menthol spray (Icy hot). ive been putting it on every day for about 3-4 years now so Im sure Ill have skin cancer some day bc of it. Ive had MRI's been to neurologists for EMG's and am now seeing the head of pain management at Northwestern in Chicago. not many answers from the Doctor side of things. My next step is going to be a life change - better posture (standing desk) changing my diet, cutting alcohol, sugar, etc. Im a rather healthy and active person but I think what I eat and drink could improve. Will keep everyone posted on how it goes. I too have had thoughts of "just someone stab me in the back to see if it goes away!" feeling.

I'm 44 years old. Thanks to this thread, I now have a clue why I've been also experiencing this tingling sensation in the back. I'm sure it's about posture. But in my case, I think it's about my sleeping position and the type of mattress. For the last 6 years, I experienced more stiff necks and this tingling sensation since we bought this mattress. Initially, I thought it was a new symptom of the onset of migraines. I also sit all day in front of the PC.

I had an MS test and it came back negative. They didnt see any correlation. If the tingling moved places and you were losing other motor function then it might be a concern.
Hi, I've been having this aswell for about a 2 years after getting really sick. It started as back numbing for about the first year, then it went to a tingling burning sensation. I also noticed dry, bumpy, scaly skin in the same spot. What was your diagnosis?

This sounds like parasthetica notalgia. At least that is what I am guessing is my problem, with symptoms like these. No effective treatments seem to exist unfortunately.
