Probably should do your own research before calling someone an uninformed f**k
I hear you, all of you, and age has little to do with it. At any age or status these exams can be a real 'pain.' Looks like we are all in good company, unfortunately. I'm nearly 70, no longer 'active' but instead have long-term dryness (atrophy). Went in for an exam just to check a sensitive spot on outer vulva area and ended up with complete pelvic. Yipes! It's been a couple of years and the NP seemed like she was ripping me open. I've had better luck with male GYNs, frankly. But truth is I am getting older all the time so tissues are probably worse than ever now. A little bleeding later and very sore for hours thus far. I attribute that bleeding to the speculum or NP's fingers groping around on thin vag. tissue.
She gave me Rx for estrogen cream and wants me to come back within weeks. I may fill the Rx and use a bit of it, but return to her? Not on your life. The woman was practically yelling at me that I needed an exam every year the rest of my life, despite what university medical centers and other professional groups say. I had a hysterectomy 30 years ago so don't even HAVE a cervix or uterus. I guess she's scraping vag. walls -- not great when skin is so thin already. Just call me a bit disgusted - and yes, sore.

Hi I had a pap smear done at 11am yesterday morning and it is 2:10am Sat morning and I still have bad cramping on my lower left abdomen and I have never experienced any cramping all the yrs that I have had a pap smear. What could be the problem? Thanks
Cancer doesn't care if you are a virgin or a porn star. Cancer can occur in women of any age post puberty and regardless of sexual activity. Spreading false information is just as dangerous as unprotected sex with strangers.
Hey did you ever find out what it was? My wife is experiencing the exact same thing as you word for word and I'm worried
Hi, same thing to me. I am a virgin, I throw up And have severe abdominal pain and crsmp. Will see a doctor today.
I had a pap smear for a culture test. I am 16 1/2 weeks pregnant, and I am not bleeding, but I am cramping in the lower area of my stomach where my uterus is. Is my baby ok?
I am 44, had many pap smears before, but this one was different. I had a little bit of brownish spotting on the day and was a bit sore, but nothing major. But after a couple of days the pain started to get worse and worse. Two weeks now since I had it done, and I'm still in pain. It's like a stabbing pain in the cervix plus cramps and lower back pain. This is horrible and it's making me anxious and depressed.
Yes this just happened to me that’s why I’m on this forum now lol
