Just got my pings (2 in the same eye) removed yesterday. The surgery itselt was a breeze. I did not get any sedation and was awake throughout the whole process. I was able to be given directions such as look up and down, side-to-side, etc. My eye was numbed and I did not feel any discomfort at all. I was able to leave right after the procedure. I left with a patch over my eye and told to rest the remainder of the day. I went back today for my one day follow up and the Dr. removed the patch. He said that it looked great... to me it looks bright red in the areas that he removed the pings. Almost like a bad case of pink eye. He did the autograft procedure with no sutures. He said that the grafts has stayed in place and things look good. No pain during the night or this morning. I will be taking steroids and an antibiotic. I will keep people updated if there is interest. I am very happy that I at this done and hope that the results will be good.
Do you mind if I ask where you got it done? I live in NYC and I"m researching to find any prominent eye doc who can do this procedure. And what was the cost like?
Thanks a bunch!
