Hi, I would like to found out something. I have SLE. I have been diagnosed with it last month. They say that there is severe clothing in my veins and that I have some thing called phospholipids antibodies. They have prescribed me plaquenil. But I have heard that it is antimalarial medication. Could plaquenil help me with SLE?
Plaquenil is antimalarial drug but it is highly effective in SLE patients with fatigue, skin and joint disease. It is particularly effective in patients with the risk of cloths in the veins and arteries. It can be effective in "thinning" the blood in your blood vessels. There are some side effects of this medication like diarrhea, upset stomach and eye pigment changes.
