Has anyone figured out a way to relieve the discomfort of the red itchy blotches. I too have been using the noodles when swimming and I have two spots under my arms that are inflamed

Yes my body was itching all over until I took 2 showers in warm hot water then I turn the temperature to cool but I use a lot of soap and washed real good then I felt better no more fiberglass felling.

My son just had contact with putting dry noodles inside pool shed and where the pool noodle made contact caused a rash on him as well.
Are all pool noodles made with the same materials. We bought them at a discount store?

I went to water aerobics today and used noodle for an exercise involving lifting the leg with noodle. Within minutes, I got extreme itching of that part of my leg and arm where noodle had touched. I went home immediately and took a Benadryl. Finally the ITCHING stopped. I think it is the dye used to color the noodle.

This is totally true. This has been studied by the American Academy of Dermathology. Hard water can also be a problem in summer if your swimming pool water has high calcium levels. A quick and very efficient solution is completely filtering it with special reverse osmosis equipment. Some companies come with a mobile trailer and can do it in 12-24 hours, keeping 90% of the original water.

Thankyou I had a family gathering and all the kids had a burning rash and I thought it was the water however they did use 2 noodles to have a splash fight. I'm curious to see if the rash occurs without the noodles thank you again I would have never thought about the noodles

I have had the same issue myself. Only on areas that my body gets heated and is contact with my rafts. ( I don't have noodles) I kept assuming it was something with the chemicals ( my husband works in the water park industry and our pool is perfectly balanced all the time so ruled that out.) or something to due with bacteria on the rafts or pollen build up... cleaning my rafts didn't help.
turns out I was also having same bumps and itching from certain clothing as well in the winter. Deduced it down to Polyester sensitivity. All inflatable rafts are made from PVC ( poly-vinyl- something) I have found that if i keep a towel on my raft and don't allow my skin to touch the raft I have no issues what so ever!
So now I am looking into some Life Hack ideas for making or using things like twin fitted sheets with Velcro sewed on to cover my rafts with. Annoying issue!

There is a chemical in balance in your pool, my grandkids get this every year due to the leaves that fall and my above ground pool and leave all this acid behind. I can tell when I stick my tongue in the water I can feel the acid. The pool places will have the chemicals needed. We have also used baking soda for this problem ,but you may need lots and lots of baking soda you must get it in the 5 pound bags and add it slowly mixed with water. Pull places will charge you an arm and a leg for about the same thing. But it is best to have your water tested, nine times out of 10 it's too much chlorine. Or too much acid in the pool from rain and leaves and winter debris.

ok that may help me because I d not use pool noodles in my pool. and soon after I fill it up, bugs and leaves, pollen, etc.. I feel like all the venom from the stingers are prickling me like the fiberglass feeling. I just put a floater in with the chlorine tablet, I more than like have to little chlorine in mine..

my grand kids have the same problem. every time they get in the pool and swim for about an hour or so they began to scream it is burning and when I look it is always where their clothing is never just on the skin. my granddaughters have it on the chest and back where their bathing suits go but my grandson only has it on his legs where his shorts go not on his back. Did you ever figure out what the problem was because I am at the point where I will not let them play in the pool again until we figure it out.

Have you discovered anything? That's exactly where both of my boys are hurting. Only where their suits are touching them. Did not have this problem last year so i thought it was because of the different brand chemicals we used this year. Went back to what we used last but still the same problem. Our ph was a little low but everything else was spot on. At the beginning of the summer we shocked it with Pool Essential brand shock. Horrible stuff btw. Bleached our liner. I can't help but wonder if the effects from that shock are still in the water?? I hate that my boys have had such a miserable summer. Spent all this money for an inground pool and now they don't even want to stick their feet in it! :o(
