Baclofen is the only thing that consistently works for me and also being away from my desk and not sitting all day.
Hi everyone. Keith here. Still suffering.
Has anyone read this study? It says 40 mgs of baclofen is the only effective remedy they know of. Could be related to spinal cord injury, according to them

My specs

Used recumbent bike often at gym up until start of symptoms
Overweight but good blood pressure and not obese
No antidepressants
Regular taker of melatonin to help sleep (15 yrs)

No problems with sex in fact my libido is higher than ever. Have the ability to go multiple times like my 20s
Went to a few docs and got "must be nice" or it's not possible to have an erection wake you up every night from sleep doctor. Stopped going
Only goes Away if I get up and walk around. Or sit and pee it will start to go down.
Very fit (surf/skate/snowboard, run, lift, yoga) pretty much daily
Psoriatic arthritis and IBS for over a decade
High stress job, and am what my mom would call "a worrier" to boot
Used to mtn bike...stopped when it bothered my prostate
antidepressants for maybe 2 years in my 20s
Have sustained many low back and coccyx injuries..(was concerned for years about caudus equinus nerve-bundle involvement, but was told symptoms would be opposite, as in no erections...have two herniated discs in L region, not sure which now, but that situation is managed quite well now
nyquil every night
Up between 2-3 am w rock hard erection, only alleviated by urination and or passing gas...the gas seems to be obstructed by and therefore to contribute to the high-pressure erection
Usually able to get back to sleep but sometimes not, and am someone who NEEDS 6-7 hours, no more no less, so quality of life sucks
DEFINITELY related to REM sleep
Always difficulty/hesitancy w urination but has steadily worsened ...onset predates this condition
Klonopin didn't help (took it p.r.n. for anxiety before a hearing or trial).
Urologist basically says structurally I'm fine...implies it's a head thing

My specs
58 years old
healthy and fit, biker in summer, swim in winter.
Dealing with this issue for at least 10 years, possibly longer.
Teacher with most summers off, so stress during school year, unstressed during summer, condition is all year.
Up between 1 and 6 times a night, issue increases from 4:00 am on. Have to stand up for a few minutes or try to urinate to make erection away.
Have never taken meds for it, as usually I am able to fall back asleep - guess I have learned to live with it. Although it is tough not being able to sleep in past 7:00 am
Diagnosed with stenosis of the spine both in lower back and neck - wonder about connection with pressure on some nerve.
Feel the need to urinate or a pressure that feel similar to needing to urinate when issue "arises."
Bed wetter as child and have always needed to pee many times in night since my 30's but no evidence of prostate enlargement, although prostate cancer runs in family. I see a urologist yearly for prostate check up. I was prescribed oxybutynin to stop the need to urinate and it had no effect on my peeing or erections.
No connection to sexual activity.

Has anyone tried sleeping on their side and cupping your sack with your hand. Ex. Sleeping on left side curling up your legs So your knees are hip level and cupping up your sack up with your right hand. It seems to work to keep me asleep.
