i am asian, male, 51 years old. it has been 10 months since my quintuple cabg. i never had any heart attack before my operation. i resumed by exercise (walking and limbering) one hour a day, three times a week after four months from my operation. my problem is the heart palpitations. it has been the second time (the first was four months after the operation) that i experienced palpitations. i feel tired whenever i experience it. it occurs anytime during the day. i thought it was because of the tea (coccaine). I stopped drinking it as i stopped also drinking coffee long time ago. i am presently taking atovarstatin, nicotinic acid, accupril and aspilet. during my first palpitation experience that lasted for about two weeks, my doctor stopped by beta blocker medicine. two days ago i have asked my doctor and i underwent the stress echo yesterday. my doctor said that he didn't find any abnormalities in my heart; in fact, it is doing well. he added that it is not uncommon that that palpitations occur among bypass survivors. it will be best, he added, that i reduce my weight since i gained three more kilos (i am now 68 kilograms and height of 1.65 meters) and resume by exercise. a friend also suggested doing the breathing exercise.
