A 4 mm. stone is no big deal..the surgery itself is not either.. The problem is when the stone is 12 mm big and the operation needs to be done in two Hits..that is besides the continuous back pain I had for years before the surgery!!! I was always told that it was ""Back spasm""!!!

I have had this stent in for three weeks. Agonizing pain and you are right it was like someone was being murdered in my bathroom too. My poor husband didn't know what to do. The pain was horrific! 7 days of agonizing pain I was NOT told about. Now tomorrow I go to blast the stone out and all over again leaving the stent in again and pain all over! I am not happy about this at all. Never again. I have been home bound because the pressure from the stent is overwhelming and you have to go constantly and feels like something is hanging out. I had to keep pads on because it would just come out of I couldn't get to bathroom quickly. OMG! doctors are not upfront with patients. I wish I read these blogs first.
I would have done the ultra wave first with no stent. never, never again. DONT think you can go to work. NO way.

Totally agree, the poor sweetie. It's horrible and very very painful with stents. I am looking into what causes these. I do not want to go through this ever again!

I just read Kalluroki leaves ( just drinking a glass a day) will melt stones and pass on their own. It's an Indian cure. I am finding out where to get this. I can't take this ever again.
Also Valhalla pine I ( banana tree stem) the juices of the stem will crush the stone and this medicine removes the stones completely and the stone will never form again.
After all this pain, spasms and sleepless notes I am looking into this. I will find someone who can tell me where to buy this.
Kidney stones are a curse.

I feel for her. I have had this stent in for three weeks. The first 14 days were murder, I cried, screamed, the back spasms in my kidney were horrible and when I peed it hurt so badly. I took only Tylenol, over the counter urine relief, and a medication to keep urine flowing. Tomorrow I go in to remove the stone blasting it and just found out the stent will remain in again and it will be painful all over again.
I am totally angry with my doctor for NOT telling me how painful this is. No communication to prepare for this and give me another choice. I sympathize with anyone going through this. It's no fun. I am terrified tomorrow to go through this again. It's not once but twice, a two part procedure. They have to come up with a better so,union to these stones. I rather be cut open it doesn't hurt as much.
I pray for everyone going through this. I took no pain mess and I suffered terribly and I have a pacemaker which I am sure was a strain on my heart.
Pray for all of us!

Diagnosed with 8mm kidney stone Dec.2016, they operated April, 2017. Had successful removal but they put a stent in for 2 weeks after. Horrible experience with the stent. Everything ok now except for a severe pain from the stent area every morning when i wake, takes a couple of hours to ease to a tolerable degree. Wondering if the hospital making me wait 4 months for the surgery, has caused damage.

I am so sorry that happened to you I am currently in the hospital and just had the same surgery and my doctor for lack of a better word is an ass nasty arrogant ass he's done nothing but lie to me I am in agony I can barely go to the bathroom and to make things worse I never met this doctor before and he announced yesterday that he was my primary doctor he misrepresented himself to me and as sick as I am he informed me he was going to call security and put me out on the street I am mortified I am scared to death I've called Medicare and did an appeal but I'll have a sinking feeling that Medicare is for the doctor not the patient. I don't know what else to do I am actually scared to death. I do hope that you feel better soon and I hope that you become pain free it's always best investigate before surgery and always best to make sure we have a doctor that knows what he's doing it in his honest with you seems to so many dishonest people in the world today that it's hard to tell when they tell you the truth I do have to say the nurses here have been kind to me but their hands are tied when it comes to the words of a doc with a cold heart and black Soul. People wonder why I can't stand Western medicine now they know and as for doctors the majority of them are in it for the money first Do no harm means nothing anymore

Stones made of Calcium oxylates are not caused by the Parathyroid, those are made of calcium phosphates.

I just had the exact procedure a week ago today. I am in So much pain, bleeding and having the urgency to go. Can't sleep, missed a week of work and like you said; I was better before the procedure. I don't get any sleep constantly getting up to take meds, which only help a little. This is crazy. I wish I wouldn't have gotten the procedure.

HELP! I have had two kidney stone removal procedures since February 2017. After the first procedure, I recovered immediately, with minimal pain. However, the second procedure was in April, and I am still experiencing severe pain. 10 days ago, my surgeon did an "exploratory" procedure to determine the cause(s) of the pain/bleeding, but told me she did not have any more information than before the exploratory. She thought maybe a fragment of stone was still left, etc. but not so. Can anyone tell me WHY this may still be going on? Through several tests they have ruled out infection, or anything more serious. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
