just had mine done monday, the the pain is worse now than when I had the kidney stones. I have not stopped bleeding and the back, side and front pain can be unbearable at times. I am hoping it goes away soon and I can be out of bed longer than a few minutes....

I am going through the same thing. I have had 4 procedures now,and the pain is constant. The medication that they gave me is getting less and less effective, and I have had to miss a ton of work. I know this is a bit late, but I am hopeful that this last one will be the last....Hang in there...

It has been 5 years since my last post and I can happy tell you yes it did get better over time but it did take years, many doctor visits, another surgery to check for scaring which was a total waste and extremely painful, plus another stent. Now I still get the pain from time to time but it is not bad at all compared to what it was.

Now I just had kidney stone surgery again last week. Surgery went well, probably the best one of the three I had. I had the usual horrible pain during urination but after 2 or 3 days it got better and after 5 days I had the stent removed.

Now I have two problems. The first is I still have bladder spasms nine days after the surgery. It is really a terrible feeling, feeling like you have to go all the time when you don't. The Doctor keeps telling me it will get better. Has anybody else gone through this and what can I expect? The second problem is after not really giving it much thought I stopped taking my pain meds cold turkey after the stent was removed, this was after taking it for pretty much five weeks straight. About two days later I started feeling sick almost like a flu but with no fever. I had a runny nose, excess salivation, temperature regulation issues, restlessness and irritability, I can't relax or sit still, nausea, diarrhea and even a bit of depression. At first I had no clue what was going on with me but my wife finally figured it out. I was going through withdraw from my pain medication. Trust me when I tell you, you don't want to go though surgery recovery and withdraw at the same time. I just found out that you can get withdraw symptoms from taking pain meds in as little as two weeks and the best way to deal with it is to step down on your pain meds gradually. I have been off them for four days now and feel at this point rather deal with what is left of the withdraw symptoms then to try the step down approach but it is a sucky feeling for sure. Don't be ashamed to talk to your doctor about, I wish I did.

Just returned home from laser surgery to remove 2 stones. Painful to urinate, but it beats leaving them in! Expect blood in your urine for 2-3 days.

My wife had 3 large stones removed,  and was Nauseated for 5 days, with vomiting.

also bleeding from the incision and blood in her urine.  Had to take her back to hospital after the pain became worse, to treat kidney infection

My wife had 3 large stones removed. She vomited for 5 days and blood continued to bleed from the incision. When the pain finally became unbearable I took her back to the hospital on the 6 th day. They are now treating her for a kidney infection,
