I think that cari peson is a bit sarcastic. Of course if a female has ovaries they can get pregnant and it is possible to know if youre 2 weeks pregnant and yes they are doc's that specialize in obgyn care at er's. and its not a matter of someone being "stuck" or not but options are available anyhow. you just need to stop thinkink that you have the best answer which is not the most helpful but rude like and maybe you should go let your low self-esteem issue some where else

New here, not sure if this is where i ask a question? But here goes, i had 3 positive home pregnancy tests on June 26. Missed my period this month which never happens but have always had cysts on my ovaries. Did an ultra sound on the 15 of June and nothing showed but the cysts. Does this mean i am not pregnant? Have tender breast and feel sick but no vomiting, sore back. Would the cysts give you a false positve?

I am a 28 year old female. About two months ago, I found myself in the emergency room with so much pain in my stomach, they gave me morphine as soon as I got in the door. When they did an ultra-sound, they found several cysts on my left ovary and what looked like a ruptured cyst on my right. They gave me pain medicine and sent me home. One week later found me at my doctors office for a follow-up vaginal ultra-sound. They found what they could only describe as a 'mass' attached to either my tubes or my ovaries. The eight doctor practice had five out of the eight gathered around my pictures trying to determine what it was. The end result was a blood- clot. Apparently, the cyst that had origianlly ruptured, hemmoraged instead. What it left behind attached itself to my ovary and was so big, it sat behind my uterus. They admitted me to the hospital for 2 days of medication and brought me back to the office 3 weeks after that. The vaginal ultra-sound showed that the 'mass' had shrunken to half the size it was. The concern was because it was still there. Also, it was positioned so that it was impossible to tell which ovary it was attached to still. Now 2 weeks after this appointment, I have had a missed period. Does anyone have any advice or a clue as to what this is?

If you have two positive reults then it's possible that you're pregnant. Could you talk to your doctor about it? I would like to hear what happens after you get a blood test.

I think what you're asking is if a cyst would affect the results of a pregnancy test, and the answer is "No"...Pregnancy tests measure HCG (the pregnancy hormone) and any cyst you have will not produce that. Usually they are made up of the progesterone your body produces during ovulation and the egg, instead of being released, becomes trapped and cannot "die off" like normal. You can have a cyst for months and still ovulate later and become pregnant. I recently was diagnosed with a hemorrhagic cyst in my ovary which also showed signs of recent ovulation. So, it is possible to become pregnant with a cyst and the cyst will not affect your test results.

If you are worried, you should go to your doctor to confirm your positive result and get a beta HCG blood test (it measures the amount of hcg and is not a simple yes/no answer). Ask your doctor about monitering the cyst as it most likely will grow in pregnancy and most likely be painful/tender on the side it is on. After giving birth, it should shrink and maybe even be regulated back into your body as most cysts do.

Women can have cysts many times over and never realise it because most of the time they are regulated and absorbed back into the body and you never even realise you had one. Most women will have a "large" cyst at some point in their lives (even after menopause) and these typically do not require treatment or intervention (surgery/draining).

So, in conclusion, you CAN become pregnant with a cyst and it will NOT affect a pregnancy test. Have your doc confirm the positive and Congrats!

I am going on 13 weeks pregnant and I have a fluid mass on my right side that may be an ovarian cyst. I will have my 1st sunogram on it tomorrow. I found out when I was 12 weeks a long about this mass. The problem is, if I have to have surgry done, I am told that I can loose my unborn regardless if I had surgury now or later. If I wait until the baby is born then I can have surgury done. Then there is also a possiblity that the doctor may say it is not a problem and decide to leave it there. Regardless, talk with your provider and ask questions.

For the past few weeks i have been having mild cramps( before my cycle). When my cycle came on it was not normal- it was a week late-it lasted only three days and the cramps continued after it ended. The pain became so intense that I went to the e.r.. I was told that I had a small cyst on my right ovary. The doctors said that it wasnt a harmful cyst but the kind that shows up once a month during my cycle. They said the pain was normal and to come back and see my OBgyn in 6 weeks. Should I be worried, even though they said not to. I want to have another child and was hoping that I was pregnant. Is there still a chance that when the cyst rupture I could still get/be pregnant?

hey so I had a natural miscarriage in August 2010 and I never went back to the DR's to see if I needed a DNC and now I have missed my period, October, and I also have ovarian cysts with lots of pain at times, usually around my period. I was wondering if I could still have the baby if I dont lose it, also could not having a DNC affect my body? I've heard that lots of women don't need DNC's after their miscarriages.

Please help. Thank you1

hi i had a ovarian cyst as well and it was pretty small but it did effect my menstrual cycle (its was almost 2 weeks late ) but as long as u get it before next month you should not worry but please continue to go to your doctor because it may grow and rupture if not taken care of ( or it will simply go away on its own) i hope this helps BTW my period usually was about 2 or 3 days late due to the cyst so don't panic :))
