My friend and I were on our way hiking. We got sort of turned around and ended up on some back roads for awhile. Once we gathered our bearings, we decided to get out and take some photos with some gangly cool looking trees.
After a few minutes, I heard a pulsing in my ear - three pulses - that kind of felt like my heartbeat in my head, kind of felt like a pounding in my brain. I heard it again a few minutes later and started walking to the car, thinking I was either sick or going crazy and my friend asked me if I was hearing a strange pulsing every few minutes. We then determined we were hearing it at the same time. We were standing under power lines so we figured it must have been that. Is this a possibility?
But then hours later after hiking (no sounds or pulses), we went around to the other side of the lake - about 25 minutes to where we had been in the backroads. We were sitting at my cabin by the lake and heard the pulsing in our ears again. Three pulses at approximately 2 minute intervals. I'm not sure if there were power lines nearby at the cabin? It was annoying - so we left.
Does anyone know an explanation for this?
It hasn't affected me or my friend since, but I'm curious as to what could have caused such a strange sensation - and in both of us at the same time.
