I use this cream on my face that contained thioglycolate, it burned a bit when I applied it. So I rinsed it off quickly and thoroughly.
It has small red patches in the areas it was applied. Is there anything I can do to make this go away quickly?
It really isn't hurting, but it burns a bit when I apply water to it.

Okay, have you read what the cream is used for? What’s its name? I believe you applied the cream for depilating on your face and that’s why you got the red patches and burning on your face.
You didn’t mention if you intended to remove some hairs from your face or you just thought it was a simple facial cream. However, you should know that this element thioglycolate is the ingredient contained in depilatory creams.
It is not significantly irritating when even longer on the skin, but you don’t apply it onto your face anymore!
All the products for removing hairs from the body contain calcium thioglycolate or some other highly alkaline substance that dissolves the protein structure of the hair.
High levels of calcium thioglycolate can cause skin irritation and possible chemical burns.
It is always advised to conduct a patch skin test to check for skin allergic reaction. Depilatory cream is left on the skin for 4-12 minutes. There are also some depilatory formulation for specific sensitive areas, but you make sure to never apply the cream on the eyebrows or around the eye.
