Good for you for following the instructions! There is medical lingo and when you don't follow instruction it's called "Being Non Compliant" And that is a HUGE strike against you! So do what they say BUT demand more and write down the questions you WANT and NEED answered! You are close honey! And just know that Hemoroids surgery can have a long recovery! So just hang in there OK? you are doing everything you need to be doing! Take more Omega oils too - this helps with straining and any blockages or "dips" Do you think you have good anal muscles?
hi,
well im being a compliant as poss- its started again today- had a few days respite but here we go...
according to them the piles are really not that bad.....
haha errrm for my anal muscles...hmmmm well apart from the fact i feel like i am "nipping" them most of the time i think they are fine!
it feels like its in spasm a lot of the time- and i have to make a concious effort to relax them.....they found no spasm on the examination.
i feel like they might as well been lookin in my ear for as far as i have got!!

Have you ever figured out what you have?? I have had the same problem for 3 weeks and am going crazy! Do you still have the pressure or feeling like something is there. I am hoping you can lead me in the right direction.
hi there, no unfortunately not. still backwards and forwards to docs, was put on anti-spasmodics but were useless. I have been researching and it seems like Levator Ani syndrome could be a possibility. again it comes and goes, but for the past 2 weeks its been daily. Look up levator ani and see if it matches your symptoms. its basically to do with the muscles down there, and effects the pelvic floor. the syndrome often lists a symptom of the feeling of "sitting on a golf ball". pressure is another- ie not so much pain but a constant discomfort. also this is often accompanied by lower pelvic pain. it still worries me that something might have been missed when i had the proctoscopy- but your life is in their hands nad just gotta hope they havnt missed anything serious.
but if it is Levator Ani- its not anything to worry about- just a huge inconvinience on your life!!! i have other (gynalogical) issues, and the doc wants to try sort these out as says they could be "linked". hmmmmm well appointment not until the 4th Nov so looks like im gunna have to suffer till then. Aparantly tho Levator Ani can occur for > 13 weeks of the year! aparantly you will not be diagnosed with that symdrome for anything less!
keep a diary of how often/severe your symptoms are- and get to ur G.P just to check for anything sinister. Take heed tho- i almost drove myself mad reading things about cancer etc on the net. its been a year and a half since my symptoms started- hopefully yours wont last so long.

I have been have been passing awful gas and the sad thing is I have no warning. I just went through a week were I had it every day and it seem to appeared in the evening. Two weeks ago I started home in my car and went to sit down and had a terriible pain shoot up my rectum it was so painful that it took my breath away for a few sections. I sit side ways for approx. 15 minutes till I got home. I went straight to a hot bath to try to relax it seemed to help. Now I have this passing of gas. Any suggestions or Ideas?
Hi Brenda! So is 1968 your birth year - leaving you at 43/44? Just a few questions, have you had any children - any problem with their births? Has your life changed recently - perimenopause, job, diet, stress, relationship etc. Also do you suffer from incontineance - either sneezing or waiting for the washroom!?
Hi there, after going back and forth with my complaint, another consultant has diagnosed protalgia fugax- but the pain is not random as this usually is and was there for most of the time. i am on a long term course of medication of Progabalin, and i have to say that this has helped tremendously. 1st dose was 2 high but now i take 2x 75mg per day and i feel like a different person. still get the odd bit of bother but nothing like what i was experiencing before. and while these are working i will contine to take them :)
hey there. i dont mean to sound dumb but what is piles? i thought if i read enough about them i would figure it out but i didnt.lol i hae had a lot and lot of rectal pressure past 2 months along with a very bad low back ache that is debilatating and has had me confined to the couch for 4 months. i have had an mri and dr says that there is nothing wrong with my bac but beg to differ. when it hurt i cant even walk. i have had an ambulance ride to the hospital because i walk my dog to far and couldnt walk back for the pain. i vacum and it kills my back. the rectal pressure is so bad for past 2 motbhs that it almost feels numb sometimes. it is always there. lots worse when i lay down though. i am going thru for a test. will let you know how it turns out. thanks
