Hi there

Just want to say thank you to this forum for helping me through this.

I'm on day 6. I pushed my tongue down and checked out the back of my mouth only to find a red patch that looked like it was bleeding, but it was all stationary.

Unfortunately I have smoked a little, not much at all though.

I wonder if this is haemorraging or am I worrying too much?

It's saw everytime i swallow, yet the other side of my mouth is basically fine.

thanks in advance!!
And btw if this is in the wrong forum could it be re-directed please? i'm sorry but I can't seem to navigate it properly for whatever reason.. Everytime I click on the ENT section, it redirects me to the same page :/

Hallo,
You have to understand that you are still in the early stage of your recovery. Tonsillectomy is not very simple procedure and the healing of the wounds completely will take time. You shouldn’t have smoked at all. This can complicate your healing. Avoid this at any cause even if it means to avoid the places where other people smoke. I think that the red patch is nothing to worry abo9ut and it will pass in few days. The thing is that you need to avoid hard foods because they can damage your wound, which might have happen already on the one side where you have your hemorrhage. I hope that this helped you a bit. Good luck with healing process.
