I have the same issue, but find that washing the face in sea water every two or three day's does ease the redness. Also bi-carbonated soda powder applied to the face can help. But it does sting on application, but it does help. You could also try self made salt water in a bowl of course. But as I live right on the ocean, I just go for a dip every second day

The following works:
- Get some Selsun Blue shampoo which contains Selenium Sulfide as the active ingredient
- Apply some of the shampoo on the red areas and leave on affected areas for 5-10 mins.
- Reactivate shampoo on face (which will have dried over the 5-10 min wait) but adding a bit of water and remixing the shampoo spots on your face. Wait another 5-10 mins.
- Wash shampoo off face
- Do this twice a day for a day or two
The spots may burn afterwards after the first application. But with the second day the skin will flake, peel, and the red itchy spots will go away. Basically the Selenium Sulfide will work topically on the rash spots. After about 3-4 days your face should be fine again and the rash spots should stay away for several weeks even with daily shaving. Then weeks later if the problem reappears, just repeat this process.

yes, I have the same above my lips and also under the chin. Also, strangely, a small spot between my eyebrows. for about seven years this has been happening on and off, slowly getting worse. sometimes it's very red and blotchy, other times it gets bad enough to scab over, sort of. It's very irritating. Sometimes, neosporin seems to help, other times it does not. I can't decide if its fungal, the same as dandruff or athelete's foot, bacterial or....i dont know, folliculitis. When i finally got a dermatologist appointment it wasnt happening and they said just to use dandruff shampoo....which works about as good as the neosporin ( about 30% of the time it seems to work....but I think doing nothing works about 30% of the time as well) I have no idea how to fix it.

Check your hormone levels, specifically testosterone. I'm having the same issues and after an unreal amount of blood tests, CT scan, colonoscopy and the only thing that is off is testosterone (total and free).
