Since I was teenager, I am planning to perform rhinoplasty. Now I am 28 years old woman with own job so I will afford it to myself. What considered me is that I heard this surgery might go wrong. I will do it, but anyway I am a little bit afraid. I would like to hear more about this surgery, how it might go wrong.

Depending upon the correction needed or alteration desired, surgery may take anywhere from one to two and a half hours. Off course there is possibility, like any other surgery it might go wrong. Procedure is that you got anesthesia, and then your face is sterilized and scrubbed with an iodine solution. Surgeon will make the appropriate incisions for access to the inner structure of the nose. After surgery is done, your recovery from anesthesia is highly dependent upon the type you received for the operation. During initial recovery there are many things that can go wrong. That’s why it is important thing to inquire about prior to your scheduling a surgery. Shivering and feeling cold is the least of your worries. Usually patient is monitored during recovery so any adverse events will be rapidly recognizes and treated. One of the things that might go wrong is you could be in the risk for hypoxemia. Some of patients cry, some immediately back to normal but most reported are sluggish feeling in their limbs and this will pass. As you see there is more things that might go wrong on recovering, then during performing rhynoplasty, so if you have good surgeon, you shouldn’t be worry.

hi, I am about to have rhynoplasty in December. I will have a week off work for vacation so I will do it then. I am now 40 yrs old and all my life I have hated my nose and was always too scared to get the surgery done. I have had sinus surgery about 10 yrs ago. and the Dr. told me that the nose job will be somewhat the same except there's more pain and swelling. I remember I really hated not being able to breathe thru my nose. I couldn't wait to get the packing stuff out of my nose and I know I was told not to blow my nose but I couldn't help it, I had chunks of blood and mucus come out and it felt so good to see it come out and I was able to breathe better. It was gross and I made sure to show it to my hubby and gross him out as well...lol...Anyway if u want I can do a blog and post pics of the before and after and tell u how it is going and all that. I am scared but I just can't take my nose anymore. It's not that it's big or anything, I just have a bump that I really hate and only think it looks bad during my profile. I really need my nose to look nice, no major change, just bump removed and tip fixed. I want to make sure the new nose fits my face and ppl will recognize me. I did a lot of searching and finally found a board certified Dr. near by who will do it and let me finance it. It will cost me about $6,000 and if it turns out nice it will be worth ten times that. While Im there I will ask the Dr. if they do lips, I mean if he can shape my upper lip, it's too thin and the shape is boring. I never heard of lip shape surgery only making lips fatter. Aside from that the rest of my face is nice. I was blessed with big beautiful green eyes and youthful cheeks. So if u want me to blog my surgery please let me know otherwise I won't bother. ----Lisa in NY

Hi
I recently had  the hump taken off my nose, my nose shortened and narrowed ,by a board certified plastic surgeon.  He also removed the hoods from my eyes, removed the bags under my eyes, did liposuction on my neck waddle and pulled my face up and back...all under local anesthesia...The procedure took about 8 hours.  I had absolutely no pain and just a little bruising above my eyelids that lasted about 3 days.  My nose was clear and open and I had no packing nor breathing problems.  I just had to sleep with my head elevated for about a week.  My scars are disappearing after 6 weeks and everything is going great and wonderful.  Don't worry and don't be afraid.  It's a peice of cake.  just make certain your surgeon is board certified.  It's a whole lot safer and your recovery time is quicker if you use local anesthesia and its a lot cheaper.  All my work was done for 8,000
