Pain originates on the right side about 3 inches below the rib cage. Doctor sent me to emergency where vital signs, urine, blood, stool, xray and CTscan indicated nothing was wrong. I was dismissed with a prescription for pain meds, which I don't take. So, what is causing the pain. My primary doctor is a board registered internal medical doctor. The pain is constant 24 hrs a day. On a scale of 1 to 10 it varies from 7,8,9. Any suggestions? :'(
Me too! My pain meds are not working anymore, if you get anywhere let me know as I am going mad with teh pain and Doctors are dumbfounded!

I had gallbladder removed 4 years ago. Since then, pain on right side but only off and on so did not pursue. But in the last 6 weeks, has been constant, severe stabbing pain just like gallbladder. No other symptoms but pain. Blood tests normal, CT scan normal, endoscopy (GERD/gastritis) which I already knew. The gastroenterologist now just advises I just continue with Prilosec! Furious - had told him at the beginning  I thought could be Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction which he agreed possible, but not very likely. On top of that, about 3 weeks ago, had an attack in the middle of the night exactly like a gallbladder attack - but it's now gone!Sorry so long but am at wit's end and this doctor apparently doesn't care that I am still in pain. Does anyone know of GOOD doctors in Raleigh/Durham area that deal specifically with biliary issues? Please!
