I have had ovarian cyst rupture. My doctor never acted like it was that big of a deal. I was put on pain med and antibiotics. I would not be ok with losing my ovaries. I probably should have gone to ER but didn't because I didnt think they would really do anything. After reading that some people have had appendix needlessly removed it scares me more. My daughter is having left sided pain that sounded similar to my cyst rupture and her doctor is questioning appendix.
I ask you to learn more about birth control before you take it. It is as cancerous as smoking and asbestos - this is from the World Health Organization.
well said! This is not a writing/grammar blog after all!
I'm 20 and I had a similar situation. I awoke around 5:30 a.m to intense pain in my right side and back, and it was very intense. i couldn't stand up, but I was very nauseous and I crawled to my friends room across the dorm hallway. She called 911 and they put me on an IV with some intense pain killer. They took me to the ER and they did a CT scan and an ultra-sound. They had thought it was my apendix, but they determined later that it was most likely a burst ovarian cyst. It was probably the most excruciating pain I've ever experienced.
It is always advisable that you take her to the doctor as a ruptured cyst can cause complications when not attended to. This does not however mean that ruptured cysts always lead to serious complications as there are times when simple medication can make things okay. Seeing a doctor for a medical examination is always the best thing to do.
A ruptured cyst may cause complications if it results in the twisting of the ovary, this is however not a common condition... there are always chances of getting pregnant after the rupture

I'm 35 yrs old n had 4 cyst rupture on my right ovaries. Been to the docs over n over! The docs just to take Motrin n try to increase exercise. I was told it can up to 6 weeks for the fluids to absorb back into the body. I had asked so many doctors to remove my right ovary n they won't. It wears me out. I get very emontional at times. I had my tubes tied 5 yrs ago n gall blader removed 9 yrs ago! Just gets frustrating! Hope u all get better soon!
Hi I am 33 years old. I have been dealing with lower left abdomen pain for several months. Countless visits to the ER which always results in CT Scan, ultrasound which includes a pelvic one as well, blood work, and heavy pain meds that make me feel like I'm flying on a cloud ( I hate that). Have been diagnosed with fibroids that are are not active because of an endometrial ablation which has resulted in no cycle for 2 1/2 years now. Also diagnosed with ovarian cysts but recently they don't see them when I go. Just today had to leave work and go to an immediate care for the pain that has me doubled over and barely able to walk. I am so tired of the pain that no woman should ever have to go through, wonder why they just can not get rid of the ovary that is causing me pain. I have never been told that it is my appendix or gallbladder because I have had both of them removed. This pain is unbearable and I just want a solution so that my normal life can come back to me.
I have an 11 year old who has been unwell for the past five weeks. We have seen so many doctors and now am under a pediatrician. She has been hospitalized to get fast tracked a whole heap of tests but all have come back fine. She had an ultrasound of her lower abdomen yesterday and the lady that did it said that if she was an adult she would say that she has an ovarian cyst that has burst because she can see fluid floating around. But as she is a child she is not sure and will have to wait to talk to doctor. She has lost nearly 4 kgs since the start of this and they cant seem to find out the problem. She has bad stomach cramps especially when she eats or drinks anything. I am trying to find answers....
