At first I did not know what I am dealing with. But now I know that I have sarcoidosis. I have severe pains in my lungs. I am coughing all the time. Also I have noticed that I am loosing the weight. Is there something I can do to treat this pain; some drugs or therapy?
The therapy of choice for sarcoidosis is glucocorticoids. Various other drugs have been tried but there is no evidence apart from anecdotal, uncontrolled reports, to support their efficacy. Do not use cyclosporine because he is ineffective for the pulmonary manifestations of the disease. The major problem in treating sarcoidosis is in deciding when to treat. That is way it is based on a combination of history, physical findings, chest x-ray and pulmonary function tests. So you must visit your doctor and consult with him.
