I had my gall bladder removed about 2 1/2 years ago. About 6 months ago, I developed a very sharp pain in my upper right side which radiates around to my back. The feel full after a couple of bits, heartburn, nauesa, etc. I recently had a CAT scan done that shows that I have scar tissue, in the area of the pain, which is attached to my intestine. This is the cause of my other problems as well. My doctor says that the scar tissue cannot be removed because new scar tissue may redevelop in the same area. Is this true? I would like to be able to things without being in constant pain AND would like to be able to eat and not feel full, bloated, or sick. Please help. I am desperate for a solution to this problem!!!
Scar tissue can reform, but there are new techniques that might help. The anti-inflammatory drug Celebrex has been show to help stop the reformation of adhesion if taken before and after the surgery. Secondly, you may want to find a surgeon who does needle lap surgery. This is less invasive and has good results.
