Hi guys,

I opted to do the labiaplasty procedure about 3 months ago (april 2012). I didn't do it for the aesthetics - I did it to decrease my discomfort and pain with wearing tight clothing and sex. My labia are still asymmetrical (I appreciate the asymmetry because I believe it gives a more natural look), and I am having pain on one-side vs. the other. More specifically, I'm having pain on the smaller side.

I feel in limbo about the decision I made because of the scarring and discomfort I am having now.

I have noticed that for the most part my scars are not too visible, but I have, what looks like, "pimples" or "bubbles" (maybe 3 or so total) along some of the incision lines. They are painful and become very sore when touched. I've started massaging it in hopes of breaking down the tissue, but I become extremely sore for the next 2 days when I do. The soreness will go away and I feel fine for about a week...then I begin feeling sore again. I was told these "bumps" or "bubbles" are scar tissue that just needs to be massaged out. I've also read that it takes 6-18 months for true healing

I am wondering though if I should expect to have this kind of discomfort/pain forever. I know that one of the risks of the surgery is chronic painful scarring - I'm just not sure if that what it is going on with me. If it is, I want to mentally deal with this rather than be forever hopeful for something that's not going to happen.

Also, in terms of sexual gratification - I'm finding that I cannot orgasm when using my own hands (it doesn't feel "good" anymore..more irritating than pleasurable) but I am able to orgasm using my vibrator. Is this a mental block? Or some sort of physiological response that I'm not understanding?

Thank you!!!

Hi there,
I'm in exactly the same position - 3mths in, stightly asymetrical, slightly painful still and bumpy inner labia :( :(
Do NOT like this pimplish, bumpy look at all. Is massaging it out the best option??? I'm using bio oil every night - just a quick dab really as I didn't know about massaging until I read ur post.

Do you know if the bumpiness is eventually supposed to go away???

Hi - I'm seeing my doctor again on friday...when I posted this I meant to write 2 1/2 months....I'm at 3 1/2 months now and I'm still experiencing soreness. I will update you on what he says..but my bumps are still there but slightly smaller. Not really noticeable unless someone was examining it or really aware of every inch they were touching.

How are you doing sexually? I tried having sex 2 weeks ago and it was painful (I also hadn't had sex in 1.5 years so that may have had something to do with it too haha)...it really doesn't feel good be touched with fingers and sometimes get irritated when wiping myself after using the bathroom. I haven't had any oral....I feel like most posts don't talk about the sex part..

I'm going in to see the Doctor on Friday - I can give you a better update then.

When writing this post I was actually at 2 1/2 months...I am at 3 1/2 months now and still experiencing the bumps...though they are small but still sensitive.

How are you doing sexually? I never had any issues in that department prior to the surgery, but now i have so much tenderness and irritation that it really doesn't feel good to touch with my own hands. I even get a little irritated when wiping after using the restroom. The best word I can use to describe it is feeling "raw" down there.

Please get back to me - not a lot of the girls on these posting sites talk about the sex part.

Hi I'm back!
Thanks for ur reply. I look forward to hearing what ur doc says. Hopefully it will be good news. My surgery was performed in Thailand so I cannot just go and see the doc unfortunately.
I have had sex successfully - 2mths in. Initially, it was very painful but we used lubrication and after a few days it was both managable and pleasureable. It seems that my vaginal entrance is tighter also. I don't understand why as I had labiaplasty without vaginal alterations.
Also had oral - was fine, easier than sex. He was happy, I was happy but I'm not too pleased with how it looks down there.
Good luck with sex I would say to use a good lube. Some gals on other forums also recommend supplements to aid in the healing process - I haven't gone there yet though.

Hello. I'm trying to find more information on scar tissue build up after labiaplasty. I'm 17 days post-op and just today the entire length of the incisions on both sides feels really firm and thick.... firm on both sides instead of squishy and natural. Sex like this would be impossible to enjoy. I'm so afraid I'm having a terrible reaction to surgery and that I've just essentially ruined my life for vanity :(

Any feedback from your doctor on the scar tissue you were noticing?

I’m about 3 weeks into recovery, and while obviously too soon to know. I am really scared about ending up with scars and painful intercourse.

Did your scar tissue resolve? Did everything turn out ok?

Hello - I am 3 years post op and am more miserable than ever. One side feels super thick and burns. I’m having trouble sleeping right now due to the discomfort. What is an email I can reach you at? Would love to talk further!

Hello,

Just curious how your labiaplasty scars are progressing with time. Any additional pain or did the pain resolve completely?
I am after 7 weeks of a trim procedure, I was in severe pain and I had a very, very difficult recovery, didn't expect it to be that hard. The hardest part was that I started to feel very anxious and almost depressed with my decision and started to seek professional help right away. I do regret my surgery, but it really doesn't matter at this point, because the most important thing is to be healthy and have a good sex life in the future.

They worked a bit in the clitorial hood area and I do feel that masturbating is more pleasurable now, but I don't know how wearing jeans will be in the future..
Regarding the scars, I started massaging them with coconut oil and it hurts like crazy !! This is why I'm a bit concerned about how the future result will feel like.

Also, I noticed that I have more vaginal discharge now, but probably because the labia doesn't get in the way, and also because of my general anxiety following the procedure..

Any advice from women that came out healthy and happy with the result would help me a lot :)

thanks !!

Hello, did this pain appear 3 years post op or did you have it from the very beginning? Did you exclude any vaginal infection like thrush? During my recovery, I had severe burning, and it turned out to be thrush, not the incision lines..
