I was diagnosed with Scleroderma recently. I have skin changes and sores over joints, elbows and knuckles. My only treatments for now are meds. I don’t know what else to do. I am very worried and scared. I look very bad. I’ve heard that all the people who had Scleroderma died. Is there any cure for Scleroderma?
There is no cure for Scleroderma and there is no treatment to stop the overproduction of collagen. Your doctor may recommend medications to make it easier for you to live with scleroderma by treating its symptoms. You should probably take medications to prevent complications of scleroderma that may affect various organs. I am sorry to hear this.
my father has scleroderma and has ahd it for 22 years and still is living. they said he should not have made it this long and thought he would have passed away 7 years ago. he has lost 6 toes and 2 fingers. he has it internal and outernal. he has very very bad "sores" on his fingers and a big one on the side of his left foot, which is the most recent.
