I am on a lot of drugs for my seizures. I take folic acid, lamictal, lorapzapam and keppra. What over the counter drug can I take for my menstrul cramps??
Since you must take all these medications to manage your seizures, anything extra, like pen relievers of course adds additional strain for your stomach and liver, but if cramps are making your everyday life harder, then they are definitely an option. Ibuprofen is strong enough to control the pain, but you probably should take it with some antacid and never on empty stomach because of its possible adverse effects on stomach lining. Your pharmacist will give you one when you explain that it’s because of ibuprofen. I’ve heard that for some women soaking in a hot bath or using a heating pad on your lower abdomen is as effective as over-the-counter pain medication, but ibuprofen works for me.
