My period is due on 3/31/11 and I took several PT's and they keep coming up negative! But I'm having cramps and feel like c**p. I know that cramps are usually a sign of implantation....and then after I miss my period I will probably have some bleeding from implantation. I went through the same thing with my first child. How many women out there have taken HPT's and had a negative result early on? How many women out there have taken a HPT and had a very faint positive result and how early on? I NEVER have cramps before my period....maybe slightly when ovulating. But this month my days of highest fertility were the 13th through the 17th, and I made SURE to take advantage of that time, lol.
Jessica,
It is too early to test, you will get a negative test almost guaranteed.
The tests measure a hormone made by the developing fetus. Depending upon the brand it can take a few days to weeks for the level to be high enough to detect. Most tell you to test no earlier than when your period was due.
There is also no such thing as a faint positive. The test should be clear, YES or NO. There should be no interpretation of the results.
Do test with your first morning urine as it is more concentrated and do follow all instructions, especially the times to the second.
If you get a negative test on your due date wait 7-10 days and try again. By then the hormone levels should definitely be high enough to detect.
