Sounds like everyone has the same problem including me and it's not just stomach pain, it's the inability or the willfull neglect of Doctors to actually take care of their patients and find a rational and real solution to the problem. I find it very disconcerning that so many Doctors are not trying to find a solution to so many peoples pain. It makes you wonder if they are actually trying to help people. I mean they are getting paid no matter what so why do they keep trying to pass on patients to another Doctor or diagnose a disease that has no real foundation in rational, logical thinking. Another words I don't see why having a patient come back for another diagnosis would keep the Doctor from doing his job, after all he is still being paid even for follow-ups. I say stand up for your health and don't let any Doctor tell you it's in your head. There are so few people who actually want attention by having an illness that it seems silly to suggest to most patients that it is in their head.
Had you got any further with finding out what's wrong with you?
I'm in the same situation and is looking for some help
All this started on february this year with weight loss due to stabbing pains in my right shoulder and under my rib cage (all right side). Since then I've had about 3 ultra sounds, ct, camera and the hida scan which all have come back normal, oh and loads of blood tests.
Here are my symptoms, which are always on my right side
Stabbing pains under the rib cage which is now really sore to touch, stabbing pains in my right shoulder blade and just below this I have dull, achy pain all the time.
All this pain worsens after food about 5- 30 minutes after.
I feel sick all the time, mainly in the mornings which sometimes I'm actaully sick. At night I feel the pain and over the months I now can't lie on my right side because of the pain.
Please help me, as all the doctors when they assess me thinks it's my gallbladder but all scans are normal.
What's going on?
Maybe you should get your liver checked. Sounds like that might be a cause.
i also have dull pain in upper right belly. had ultra sound ,nothing .my upper back also is in pain an i am dizzy off balance. was told it could be acid reflux. mine makes me sick .if i stand too long , or after i eat my mom complained of stomach also a few yrs ago an it was her liver. not found on tests. she died from this she never drank . but had diebetes, so keep trying to find problem. doctors cannot always fing problem til its too late. good luck to all.
Dear Debi,
I have the exact same pain right under my right chest area. I have to press down on it even that makes it hurt even worse. I have had abdominal pain before this, and also some pain in my groin area. I have taken a urinalysis and they found some blood in my urine. I took a CT of my ballbladder and kidney and everything looked fine they said, however, i feel everything but fine. I will be having bloodwork done, and some other exams for infection or viruses, but I think that you and I should keep in contact so that we can help each other out, or to atleast see if there is anything we can do for each other. My name is George, and I would really appreciate it if u would stay in touch with me because everything you are describing to the T is dead on what I am feeling--I mean exactly the SAME!!! So PLEASE, if for pure comfort you would keep in touch with me I would so appreciate it. My email is "ArtFanatic88/atyahoodotcom" (just in case they have the "non e-mail exchange policies" on this site. Good luck, and I will pray for you and your health.

Hi, Very similar symptoms over here. Went to bed couple of weeks back and awoke with pain in right side, which seemed to resolve itself on getting up in the morning. But, back it came the next night. And the next night, and so on, such that I can no longer sleep on my right side. I have also had pretty bad, if intermittent, back pain over the same period - again, right-sided. Since I do not (yet!) have any other "red flag" symptoms (stool changes, nausea, vomiting, temp etc.), Dr believes it is probably muscular. I've had muscle strains before though, and am not so sure. Have therefore requested bloods. Contemplating requesting scans too. Hope your issues get resolved...
Wow I was surprised to read this I have the same exact problem and same results ultra sound was "normal" but the pain won't go away and they gave me pain meds to. They said my doctor needs to order a "Hide a scan" that will show the functionality of my gallbladder.
My sister went through the same thing, over and over, ultrasound normaol and other tests.Until the did a test with the dye, which showed hers only functioning at 40 percent. She had it out,and is much better.
I am now for almost a month now, having extreme pain in the right side, wraps under my rib cage and back.My bowel are all messed..It is awful..I have major back issues, so im having an mri on sunday. But i know how you feel, hospitals dont give us any answers and make us feel like we are crazy.. Im calling my family doctor tomm, cause i cant take this pain anymore, plus my right ankle is so swollen and so painful. The thing is i take pain meds and a muscle pill, for my back.. So i dont think i feel the full pain..Good Luck!
i have had pain all over my abdomen on my left side beneath my last ribs and my upper right side recently. it started back in november and it got worse. i went to the er twice because i couldnt sleep through the night because it hurt so bad. they did a ct scan and saw that i had an enlarged appendix but it was not inflamed or infected, so they did nothing about it. all my labs and a ct scan in the hospital came up normal. they sent me home stating abdominal pain and told me to come back if it worsened. i came back and they admitted me. i stayed overnight at the hospital and once again no doctor could figure out what is wrong. my obgyn did a lower pelvic ultrasound to check my ovaries and uterus which turned up normal. I have another ultrasound of my abdomen and renal area and im waiting for the results. i see a gastrointestinal doctor tomorrow. I noticed that the first wave of this i got a headcold where i had a runny nose and then a stuffy nose. the pain would start with back pain. i would sleep on whatever side that hurt because the pressure helped the pain.
My pain seems different from yours but I have had pain in my upper right quadrant which would seem like gallbladder problems. If i eat overly fatty foods or coffee it hurts worse. my mom gave me an antacid pill which did seem to help. but like you the pain is still there and its unbearable i cannot sleep through the night sometimes and i wake up with my stomach rumbling distinctly in the left side and laying on my right side feels like someone is punching me in the upper area.
the doctors never could figure whats wrong. it may be my gallbladder and my stomach. im only 18 and i just moved into college this year. i have never experienced something this painful. if anyone hears anything about what this could be id appreciate it if they shared. i dont think i could live with this pain.
