My husband currently works outside in the heat/sun, a couple months ago he started to complain that his whole back was extremely itchy that it almost felt prickly like needles. The first thing we thought was he had come into contact with fiberglass. We did an oatmeal bath and put baking soda on his back along with him taking a Benadryl. The oatmeal bath did nothing for him and other than taking multiple Benadryl's to knock him out, nothing has really helped. We then looked at it possibly being a bacteria on his skin where he needs to take care of his personal hygiene better with cleaning his back. He has started that and any type of cleaning or scrubbing of his back then irritates him more later on. Though he has found different ways to tolerate this feeling or sometimes doesn't sweat or work in the heat that it isn't such a problem, it always comes up and is extremely uncomfortable for him.
When he really notices the activation of this feeling is when he sweats or the minute he puts a shirt on. I wasn't sure if it is the detergent so we plan to check on that but other than being recommended the oatmeal bath and putting cortisone cream on he isn't getting any relief. Is there anything else we can do or that this might be?
