Your pain is very similar to Famillial Meditranian Fever. But it is mostly with fever. The blood cell is increased for one or two days there is a severe spasm in abdomin and after one or two days everything comes to normal. It happens once every few months or sometimes two times in a month. FMF can be diagnosed by Gene test. And its attack can be prevented ( not treated) by Colchicine drug eating daily.

Gluten. I'm up right now because I ate it knowing I shouldnt have. After about a year of the pain you all are describing, I finally figured it out. Allergy testing says I'm not allergic to wheat and all other testing came back normal. After cutting gluten even for one day I noticed an immediate difference. Cut out gluten and see if it helps.

I have the same symptoms and yes, my gallbladder was removed also.

I agree.......I discovered the same thing. Several doctors wanted to remove my gallbladder. After three ER visits, I had discovered the baking soda/water mixture and found that it provides relief after about a half hours versus the 7 hours of pain I would have before going to the ER. The doctors have blinders on and only point towards the gallbladder as the culprit, but then I pointed out that baking soda and water would not have any effect on biliary colic (the pain from a distressed gallbladder) Just had my stomach scoped a week and a half ago and after the GI doctor found no ulcers, he again said that I needed to have my gallbladder removed. This is the same doctor who agreed that the baking soda mixture relief would indicate it could not be the gallbladder.....they had also tested for H pylori which came back negative. I still wake every morning at 3 or 4 am because of my stomach. Doctors seem to be of little help with this problem. Btw....I am a full-time writer and researcher who writes in the healthcare space mostly, so I will challenge the doctors instead of being another of the 600,000 gallbladder removal patients in the U.S. each year.

For over 5 years now i have suffered with this... it use be first back pain which lead onto my stomach pain. My back would start at my shoulderblades and work its way down. Once it reach the bottom of my ribs my stomach would be in pain. It feels like i have a ball in my stomach trying to force its way out through my skin. Right in the middle under my chest where the ribs in the middle stop. I feel sick and sometimes i am. I use to be able sit or stand to ease the pain, a very hot shower or bath, ive been given so many painkillers its unreal but none of them help. I find a hotwater bottle on my back and one on my stomach helps a little. But this pain is unreal. Ive manged giving birth 4 times once with twins and never had painrelif but this pain im getting to the put where i cant handle it any more... ive been to the drs soo many times its crazy and no one knows what is causing it. I have no pattern to what sets this off. I thought maybe food alleages but nope that didnt work... 5 days on a row now which i only suffered 2x weekly max... im 28 and this is crippling me...

Me too! It hurts worse to take a deep breath. It’s a hard pain to discribe. Constant and feels like I’m extremely sore. I have to get up and drink coffee! I know... but it stops the pain. I’ve had ALL the tests... ALL! Very expensive! But this has gone on for years and I know it’s not in my head and not normal. I did read an article that said around 3 am everyone’s bodies start “house cleaning”... the liver Klingsporn cod in around that time! But my liver enzymes are normal. Man am I gonna be pissed at some Dr’s if I get cancer!

I am exactly like you. I thought it was hiatal hernia because I have one. But after test it came back normal. They said I have gastritis and think maybe it’s acid reflux but I don’t have heart burn or any of those symptoms. I’m fine all day and when I go to bed around 10-11pm I wake up around 3am with back pain and stomach pain. I try and lay in different positions but nothing works. So I have to get up and start my day. I just want answers.

My upper Abdominal Pain started after I had my first baby, after a week home from the hospital I awoke at 3 am with a dull belly pain, I tried to turn over and ignore it but that didn't help, I sat up and the pain started radiating to my back becoming very severe. I got very nauseous and had to vomit, I went to the ER and they did an EKG, X-rays, Checked my Gallbladder and everything was fine. They said it was acid reflux, sent me home with Omeprazole and something for nausea. 2 nights later I awoke again, same pain, lasted 6 minutes after rocking back and forth it kinda eaised off. 4 months later I still have the pain, I have an appointment with the gastroenterologist very soon, I will say, it doesn't matter what you eat, the pain still happens, I changed my diet, loss weight and still wake up with excruciating pain. I realized that taking Dicyclomine helped some, I elevated my bed at night, I also take Nexium, not sure if I need it but I kinda have the pains under control right now so I don't want to stop Nexium to see if I need it because I want to do whatever I can to not have an attack. I hope they figure it out cause my anxiety is getting worse and I can't live with this pain.

I had very similar pain every morning in upper back and stomach. My Dr. had me quit all alcohol for six weeks and pain finally ended. He said even just 1 beer a week was irritating my pancreas. Now I never drink alcohol and it has started back after 10 years. I’m not sure what to eliminate this time but I do think it is pancreas related.
