It’s not a matter of the doctor being ok with it. It’s a personal choice and none of your business.

I had an ablation 8 years ago, lost all sex drive can't even get myself aroused. Now about 4 years later had breast cancer due to starting menopause, had lumpectomy, done chemo and radiation. Now December 2022, cancer came back, had a double mastectomy in April, go next week to find out when I start chemo. So everyone is different, but still would love to have sex with my husband who has been beside me this whole time....

Yes unfortunately after having my ablation at age 46 I no longer have the orgasms I used to! I wish I would’ve researched it more before hand. Now at age 52 I could care less about sex! This ablation ruined my sex life and I Highly recommend people to try other things 1st!!

I've just had the Novasure ablation today Jan 2023. I'm a very sexually active with high libido. Honestly im worried after reading your comments. My concern is for how long must i stick around before we have sexual intercourse. It seems waiting much longer has negative effects. On the other hand, too soon is still an issue. Im already turned on as i type this but hubby seem not interested. How soon should we do it?

I did my Novasure endometrial ablation in February 2023 & now 6 months later, i am still numb in my clitoris & drier than before. Have tried plasma/PRP injections, have tried prescription Scream Cream, have seen doctors, but nothing so far. I am incredibly depressed & lost the only pleasure i had. I wish i never did this!! doctors think by saying “oh, I’ve never heard of this complication before” that it somehow excuses them. Novasure should be banned… how is this allowed to happen to people

I'm really sorry to hear about your experience and the distress it's causing you. Your feelings are valid, and it's essential to continue seeking medical advice and possibly second or third opinions until you find a solution or at least a clearer understanding of what's happened.
1. Seek Support: Join a support group, whether online or in-person, where you can talk with other people who have had similar experiences or complications from medical procedures. This can help you feel less isolated, provide coping strategies, and sometimes offer solutions or paths forward you hadn't considered.
2. Consult a Therapist: You mentioned feeling incredibly depressed. A therapist, particularly one who specializes in sexual health or medical trauma, can help you navigate these feelings and develop coping strategies. They may also have resources or connections in the medical community that could be beneficial.
3. Research and Advocacy: Research potential solutions and treatments. Sometimes diving into understanding a problem can help you feel more in control. If you feel that your complication was due to negligence or lack of information on potential side effects, consider seeking legal advice or becoming an advocate for better transparency in medical procedures.
4. Alternative Therapies: There are various therapies and practices, like acupuncture, which some people find helpful in treating unexplained medical symptoms. However, always consult with your primary care doctor before embarking on any alternative treatments.
5. Communication: If you're in a relationship, communicate with your partner about your feelings, fears, and experiences. They can be a source of support, understanding, and patience.
Lastly, remember that medicine is as much art as it is science. Sometimes, doctors genuinely do not know why certain complications occur in some patients and not in others. While this is understandably frustrating, it's essential to keep advocating for yourself, seeking answers, and surrounding yourself with a support system. You deserve understanding, treatment, and care.
