Hi,

I'm a 23yr old male, 5’7 and around 135lbs. I've been a small guy my entire life, but I never had a problem eating. I use to be able to eat a 12inch sub in 10 minutes with no sickness or worries. However, when I turned 21 I began feeling sick while I was eating. I thought it had to do with stress (I was working full time while going to college) but the problem has continued since. When I eat I feel very sick; my nose runs, I get full VERY fast (even if it's a small meal), I constantly have to burp to be able to eat another mouth full, and I barely finish meals. If I do finish a meal, it takes me a long time to do it. This causes me anxiety when I'm in a social surrounding as I'm always the last one to finish the food (even my GF finishes her food before I do). I have to fight back throwing up; I don't want to throw up but it has happened several times. It got so bad 3 months ago; I threw up after eating a simple hamburger and I saw blood in my vomit. I went to the ER and it turned out that I had ruptured my oesophagus. They did a scoping procedure to cauterize the rupture and put me on 'anti-acid' medication. I've had blood work done, x-rays, an allergy test and numerous check ups with my doctor and nothing is physically wrong with me, so they say. I've been taking the medication given to me but nothing has changed. I feel tired all the time because I don't eat enough. I don't even have the energy to get by a simple day like I use too, let alone try to play hockey or do anything physical.

I'm at a dead end now; I really don't know how to fix this. I use to crave food and enjoy eating whatever was given to me. Now I see food as a hassle, like a chore I need to get done for survival sakes.

What do I do?
friend you might be having oesophageal motility disorder, like achalasia cardia..where spasm of oesophagos occurs when you eat.
tell me more about your tests, have you done barium swallow? what medications are you taking??
