Hello, six weeks ago I had a lapidus procedure to my left bunion fixed, and second toe with a hammertoe.   Three screws and a wire to stay in permanently.   The cast off and hammertoe pin finally out yesterday.   I can honestly say there was no pain whatsoever when the nurse pulled the 4 inch steel pin out with pliers.   Weight bearing on the heel  uncomfortable now, as I misunderstood what touch weight bearing meant, and didn't put my foot to the floor for six weeks.   Was afraid the screws would be pulled out of alignment with the pressure.    Will have to have physio now to restore flexibility and mobility.   No boot, just the velcro shoe to walk in, but am determined to make this work.   Good luck to all of you out there, and make sure you know how much you are allowed to do early in the process.

Hi, last week I had a bunionectomy. I am still in a lot of pain, thank goodness for painkillers. I hope to be up and around more in a week. Has anyone had a lengthy layup?
