My husband had hip replacement two years ago. Since his surgery I have noticed that when he perspire it smells like metal. My husband is very active and plays paddle ball or tennis every day for at least 2-4 hours. The chemical/metal smell on his clothes is very strong. Can he have some sort of metal poisoning caused by the metal hip replacement?
I have the same problem.. it can take a LONG time to get rid of that smell.. I was told its a side effect to the Anethesia they used... its been 3 months and I still smell it.. but my doctor finds nothing wrong with me.
I have just had two ceramic hip replacements seven weeks apart and agree - there is definitely a weird smell following BOTH hip replacements. I want to say it lasted about a month after the first one, and I am almost at the one month point with the second replacement, and still smell! I forgot to ask my doctor about it!
