Did you have pain after surgery bc of the stitches ?
Thats what size mine was today when I went in they drained it and put me on antibiotics and I have to go back in a week to have it excised if it isn't treated with antibiotics
About a month ago I went for my annual OBGYN appointment and my doctor thought I had a urethral diverticulum. She referred me to a female urologist. She check me and indicated it was not diverticulum but a Periurethral cyst...about 2 cm. Even though I did not have pain, she recommended removal because of future complications. I had it removed last week outpatient surgery and pain has been minimal. Thankfully it was not deep and she did not have to do any repair which means I did not have to leave with a catheter. I highly recommend seeing a female urologist if you feel you have this.
Just had it done today. Cost was $4,000.
How long did it take you to recover?
i am not a fan of antibiotics, so I took golden seal and put a heating pad on it. It burst the same day. I am still taking golden seal, vitamin C, cranberry pills, pain med and drinking plenty of water. It is only one day later so I am resting to help my body heal.
heating pad, golden seal, vitamin C, increase garlic and onions in your diet and rest. My gland burst the same day I put the heating pad on it. I had to wear a pad. It is only one day later, but I feel so much better. It may take awhile for me to be totally pain free, but that's okay. It is manageable now
Hi there, I know you posted a long time ago, but was wondering what doctor you saw? I've been having problems with the skenes gland and can't find a doctor who understands the problem. Thank you!
I went to my GYN on a Wednesday and was told my skene gland cyst needed to be removed. And I was scheduled for sugery on Friday. I went to out patient surgery and was put to sleep. My cyst was 3 cm big. The size of a strawberry. I never had any pain while I had the cyst but it was aggravating having this flesh coming out of your virgina. Also it was terribly embrassing and I did have trouble urnating. I woke up from surgery and was in some pain. Was sent home with antibiotics and pain meds. It's been 5 days and I'm still bleeding and wearing a pad. I don't have trouble walking but I do have pain after sitting for long periods of time. I also noticed myself getting tired. hope this helps.
I had one of my skenes glands removed and I am still able to cum. I had a grape-like enlargement next to my urethra which drained out of my urethra when pressed on. I had it for over a year but got completely fed up with it; so I had the sac removed along with one of the glands. I am still able to have a completely normal, if not better sex and ejaculatory experience.
The gland is not marble sized...that individuals cyst was marble sized. You can't actually see the gland.
I'm sorry I'm just now replying. But he retired last year. I haven't seen his replacement yet but his clinic was in the Kirklin Clinic in Birmingham Alabama.
did they use contrast for your MRI?
I had a skene cyst about a week ago. At first it was the size of a pea. I thought it was maybe a pimple so I tried to pop it. (Bad idea, dont do that) it grew to the size of a marble, but it was causing much pain so ignored it for the time. Over the next couple days it became super painful & thought it may be infected. I tried googling it & assumed it was a bartholins gland cyst. (Even though it seemed the location was slightly off) I called the ambulance since I could barely walk & the pain was so bad I thought I might puke. The doctor at the er thought it too was a bartholin cyst. She gave me antibiotics & Tylenol 3 & told me she was going to lance it. After an hour of waiting for her to lance it she came back telling me that she wanted to do more research since she thought it was to high to be a bartholin cyst also. She also called the gynecologist & they thought it was a skenes cyst instead. She referred me to the same gynecologist & sent me home with a prescription of antibiotics &Tylenol 3's for the pain. She told me to take warm baths & put warm wash cloths over it because it could pop on its own & relieve the pressure. Within the next day the pain was server. I put a hot cloth over it, hoping it would help with the irritation. It didnt so I put an ice cube in the cloth & gently placed it on the sore. Within minutes the pain was getting better. I began to smell a fowl smell & went to the bathroom to pee. Apparently the cyst popped on its own maybe from the hot cloth, the ice cube after, or the antibiotics I was beginning to take. Day by day the pain was getting better & the swelling was gone. When I went to see the gynecologist she said it looked like it was healing. They did swab tests on what bacteria might have caused it & did a yeast infection swab as well. (which I havent heard back from them on it yet). I get yeast infections quite easily, so I assume it might be a cause of my infection. dont wash your crotch with soap use just water instead. I also bought some ph wash cloths to use at times im unable to shower. I hope this helps in some way!
Hi Tantra Girl. I was diagnosed with a skene gland cyst last month. Mine was right next to my urethra opening. I had it for two to three years no pain and no problem. I also had the Mirena IUD in so never got my period. I recently had the IUD removed and began to have regular periods again which caused much irritation to my cyst. It began to enlarge and become painful. My OBGYN sent me to a Urologist and she scheduled surgery to remove the cyst right away. The Urologist said it is a very slim chance that the cyst will come back after being removed. She said in her years of practice she has never seen one grow back. I was so happy to hear that. I just did the surgery this past Monday and although sore and tender I am very relieved that once healed I will never have to worry about it again cause its gone! I hope this helps. Sending prayers your way, I hope you find relief!
