Did it come back? Are you ok now?
Also how many days did it take to revover from the surgery where you could walk and excersize normally again?
I have this and yes, the Skene's gland is directly next to the urethra, while the Bartholin's gland is further down next to the vaginal opening.
Hi, this is an old thread but I was hoping you could update us on how your healing process has been, I bought everything you used and I'm just trying to be patient with mine while losing patience at the same time, help
I've had a grape sized skene's cyst for over four years. I first noticed it about 6 months after my first child was born. The gyno said if it wasn't causing pain or interfering to leave it be. So I let it be.
This evening I felt what I thought was the start of my cycle, but was actually the cyst emptying. No pain, no foul odor, a small dot or two of blood, that's it. Now it is completely empty, which I'm still in shock about.
Has anyone else's spontaneously ruptured? And did it come back?
I know this is an old thread, but it is so hard to find in depth information about this and this thread has been the most helpful of any I have read in the past!
I was diagnosed with a skene's duct cyst over 20 years ago. It was about 1 cm in size and seemed to come and go with my cycle. I had it lanced twice and was placed on several rounds of antibiotics. After it was lanced the second time, I could squeeze it to drain it. I was able to do this daily until about a year ago. Consequently, it became quite large with intercourse becoming uncomfortable. It is very near my urethra and eventually it burst a small hole into the wall of my urethra and began to drain that way. I visited a urogynocologist and he ordered a MRI. He discovered I have three 1 cm sized cysts in a row, very close to the surface. I'm scheduled to have them excised in about a month after our summer vacation.
I was wondering if anyone could chime in regarding recovery time. For those who have had it surgically removed, did you experience pain with intercourse after you recovered? Also, did anyone experience cysts returning?

Im having surgery for mine in 2 days. Diagnosed at 36 weeks pregnant back in March. Caused me pain, trouble emptying my bladder and leaking bladder all the time. Mine is about 2cm and right on the uretha. Im seeing a female urologist. He had also removed my moms so im optimistic about it healing well.
This thread is very old at this point, but message boards are where I found most of my info on this condition. I went to express care clinics and saw an obgyn and a urogynocologist. The terrible pain and collection of fluid backed up into my labia. This happened at least monthly for about ten months. No one was helpful. When my appt with the uro gyno came around, I wasn't experiencing it so he couldn't recommend surgery. Incredibly frustrated and taking antibiotics every month, I read as much as I could online, which is not much. I decided to try to make my orgasms as productive (as in with regard to fluid) as possible. So after having sex, even if I had an orgasm, I would use a vibrator and make myself orgasm and emit as much liquid as possible (female ejaculation, squirting, whatever you.want to call it) Since starting this practice, it had recurred only once in six months. After it being at least a monthly occurence. I can only attribute this change to this practice. I hate that a doctor can't just ask you if you masturbate, or suggest it as a first course of effort. If anyone is still reading this and frustrated with the inconsistent or inaccessible treatment, I strongly suggest you have more sex and make yourself cum as much as possible. Sounds crazy, but it has worked for me after nearly a year of suffering. Good luck to anyone looking for information on this. It's incredibly frustrating and I don't want anyone to feel disgusting or like a freak for talking about it.
Hello,
I had a cyst and did a ton of research about natural treatments and found some great discoveries. A disclaimer: this is my experience, I am not a dr., just looking for natural results before surgery as surgery should always be the last option. After going to several dr's and none able to tell me how the cyst came about and or gave me any options to get rid of it besides surgery. I haven't had kids yet and was desperate and bought the book. The natural cure of ovairian cysts to change my diet. Then I found a forum of women who had treated their cysts naturally at home.
Apple cider vinegar (Braggs apple cider) apply it to the cyst with a cotton ball for 30 minutes to a hour daily. Then make sure to take hot sitz baths and hot compressions at night. It was a very painful process and could barely walk for a few days but after day 5 my cyst ruptured and it's now two weeks later and it has healed completely.
The only problem is I read that the shell has to come out for it not to come back and I don't know if that happened or not. The cyst burst taking all pain away and a lot of my aniexty.
It went from grape size to pea size and I'm still researching and trying to find causes of my cyst so I can clean the infection and it never comes back.
Long and painful process but the body is a amazing thing and will recover and heal itself!! I'm telling you use the Braggs apple cider vinegar and it will burst and then heal on its own. Make sure to see a dr after it bursts as I might need antibiotics and def should get a check up.
Good luck and God bless!

I am recently dealing with an enlarged skenes gland. Not sure if it's a cyst or blockage but I am taking a supplement called myomin. It helps with cysts and many people experience them disappearing with use of this product. Research it there is a lot of info online about it.
Hi, how long did it take for the bleeding to stop?
I just had the surgery Tuesday I’m home with a catheter for 2weeks in much pain taking this one day at a time
Thank you for bringing up what I've been wondering about- but NO ONE else EVER mentions!!! I've only ever experienced these after LONG periods of not having my husband near (sexually)...and then BOOM! Talk about a compelling case for intimacy and orgasms!
Heat, silicea (30C), and tea tree topically - with that it usually drains within 24hrs.
I have a similar issue. My doctors have not been helpful. I was initially diagnosed with painful vulva syndrome, so basically female hysteria/i'm just "sensitive". The appointments with this terrible doctor took months, and it swelled. The pressure became unbearable, making it difficult to sit and urinate. After being incorrectly diagnosed and turned away, the cyst (right below and up against my urethra) caused so much pain that touching it and prodding was not much different from how it felt when sitting such activities. I made another appointment but before that day came, the cyst became infected. I called them and begged for an opening (I was too terrified to go into an ER, because I don't trust them to handle such a sensitive and rare matter when it involves both my urethra as well as my sexual organs), but they said that they couldn't get me in for a few days. The pain was so bad that I was ready to cut my entire vagina off with a knife just to end it, it itched and hurt and was full of pressure and the pain almost caused me to black out and kept me in a constant state of fight or flight for over 2 hours. I decided to use my needle and just see if i could pop it (which is horrifying if you think about the area that this was in and what that may mean for me afterwards). Well, I did. And I drained it. and it hurt. and the stuff that came out smelled rank and infected and there was blood. But I was able ot manually drain the damn thing. Then, I took antibiotics that I had not ended up using prior which were meant for a uti (I realize that this was NOT the best move, but the doctors refused to help me or even recognize the issue and I just wanted to do everything that I could to prevent getting a horrible infection in my blood from this). That took a while to heal and I was worried that it would cause a permanent scar, where I stabbed myself. but the pressure being relieved was amazing. The cyst eventually filled again, and I knew the drill this time, i tried to be more careful. So, I decided to attempt to relieve the pressure in the same way that you described, except I just worked to stimulate my gspot and attempt to squirt? (even though that isn't a thing that i've ever known my body to do). When i came close to coming i would feel a huge pain, and it was too much for me to bare so I stopped. I had to try maybe three times and finally I was able to push through the pain and one of the two little opening near my urethra (my skene's ducts) busted open with a little blood and some creamy fluid, which smelled just like normal vaginal lubricant. At this point, I could see that it was draining with a mirror, so I helped it to drain by squeezing it. In other words, this method DID work for me, but it is in no way a cure for me. The issue has been reoccuring for 3 years now. I saw another doctor who was (unbelievably) able to see my golf ball sized cyst just below my urethra (I have pictures of it what this looks like backed up, you would be in shock to believe that 3 nurses and doctors before this woman simply couldn't see this, or so they said). She prescribed antibiotics which I was on for 2 and a half months. The cyst was not super inflated at the time and by the end of the course it seemed to be smooth and there wasn't much pain, so she sent me on my way with the words that "If I just think positively about it, the issue wont come back".
