A while back I noticed a small bump on the area over where my ovary would be. I thought nothing of it, dismissing it as a small cut or bruise, and in a few weeks it went away. A few weeks later it came back larger and redder. I was going to tell someone about it and it went away again, so I thought maybe it was just an ovarian cyst and it was no big deal. I now have the tiny bump, but it doesnt change size at all and just looks like a tiny bruise. I'm not sure what's going on. There's no pain, and my menstral cycle has been completely normal. I havent had sex and as far as i know ive been healthy, except for a problem with my tonsils which i had removed last year. Can anyone help?
Hi - You mention your ovaries and your menstrual cycle, but if you are seeing these bruises, they are actually on your skin, correct? You can't see ovary problems on your skin. I have had this happen before, when my clothing irritates a sensitive patch of skin. The hair follicle gets blocked, and then pressure on the resulting bump makes it bruise. It will go away eventually, as you've seen. If it bothers you, or if it's painful, look for the hair sticking out and pull it gently with tweezers.
I currently have a knot and a bruise over my left ovary. I'm a bit skeptical as to the hair follicle idea since my bruise is located over my ovary, looks like an ovary and leads downwards. When I first noticed the bruise it only looked like the ovary the next day however, it grew into what appeared to be the Fallopian tube as well. I haven't been experiencing any pain and to the naked eye it doesn't appear to have grown any larger. But I'm unaware of what it is since I haven't experienced anything that would traumatize that area and I too have not had sex.
